But Light Novels are like manga, or manwha in Korean, but fewer pictures. Manga is sorta a comic in a softcover book format, all sequential cells, LNs are closer to an illustrated book usually, in the same soft cover. As far as I understand anyway. Happy to be corrected.

I am quite a fan of both stuff and nonsense, when applied appropriately. There's a lot of really bad writing in my genre at the moment because it's the new hotness and everyone thinks they can write one. It happens every tome something gets popular.

#WhimsicalWriters The best part of LitRPG is that good ones are 95% whimsy by weight.

He rolled up his sleeve and scrolled idly through his stats. It was the closest thing he could do to doomscrolling inside the game. He found that his skills were climbing slowly, and a few new ones had developed. There was an overarching Ranged Weapons skill that was broken down into mutiple subskills, first into Close Range (0 to 50m), Medium Range (50 to 250m), and Long Range (250m+) and then into the various weapons he'd used at those ranges. Crossbow marksmanship appeared under all three, of course, but Improvised Weapon (Thrown Rodent), only showed up in the Close Range subskill.

Nice. I'm writing in a Steampunk VRMMO, with very realistic physics and chemistry and one of my characters uses airborne pathogens as a weapon. I've got a lot of disease vectors and how long one can survive in various environments.

Wow, this got a lot of... Interesting responses, and it seems that the way I write is quite far from that of many other authors. For me, I almost watch what my characters are doing - like a movie or vr - and document it. Yeah, the words are bad but that's my skill trying to translate what I see.
