There's something poetic about a language designed for developer happiness. Not speed. Not enterprise scalability. Just happiness. Matz asked: what if coding was actually enjoyable? That was radical in 1995. It still is. What does developer happiness mean to you?

One thing I try to remember: I am where I am because of others. I became myself through the people who taught me, challenged me, loved me, forgave me, and gave me chances before I knew how to deserve them.

And when I’m gone? Whatever was worthwhile in me will only remain if it helped someone else become more themselves. The point of life is others. We forget that at our peril.

I recently got back into photography after quite a hiatus. I've had a Canon for years, and then got a Sony with some nice lenses...but I recently purchased a Fuji X100vi...that thing is a pretty fun day-to-day camera. An A7cii would be nice though... While in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

I've been working on an AI-powered app builder like Lovable. But instead of it generating Vite/React code, it generates Rails applications. The idea is to prototype something quickly and avoid the deployment process and interact with Rails in a new way. After you can export your code.

Turn your “well, actually” into a “yes, and.” “Well, actually, if you did it this way…” => “yes, and with a tweak, it could be faster…” If you reflect enthusiasm back at someone, rather than negating them, they’ll be much more likely to take your advice/recommendation
