My talk is done (enough?) -- Ready for my @rmrubyconf.bsky.social talk on Tuesday, a few weeks ago I too built my own slide deck maker + exporter and I just ran through it and it worked great 10/10. Looking forward to the conference after a rough day tomorrow at least Tuesday can be a bright spot!

A few years ago, I would have to have used some obscure react component to get a date picker to do what I wanted. Now I get my own custom web element exactly the way I want it.

the single best feature of my social media app i’ve been beta testing with some friends is the unified timeline. i can see posts from all of my friends even if they chose mastodon as their home ❤️ getting close to feeling ready to submit for app review

i got terrible news today that my cat is sick and has diabetes and i’m going to have to make tough choices sooner than i ever thought i would ever need to. absolutely devastated. he is the only reason i am still alive on multiple occasions.

It's coming together, the native social media app of my dreams so far. I think I might see about getting this up on the app stores. If you're curious this will also be on iOS and iPadOS too when i'm done with it (both of those apps are working too!)

i just saw ActiveCampaign aka Postmarks parent company did layoffs and 1: ouch, sorry to those who got laid off, and 2: ActiveCampaign bought it and then basically has done nothing to move the needle anymore for years. just collecting that paycheck. 😭

OVH my server host for my gaming servers just rolled out price increases.... and applied it to existing customers of which they've already purchased the hardware for (ie me for years i've been paying the same rate). Wild.

the worst / best part of making my own language is i need to rebuild the universe. i have a basic web framework going, but i need a cli package so i can package commands. oh and i need a db too! but i dont have ffi bindings in my language, so i need to build that
