The author is wrong about autism - the causes are well known, so is the fact that autism is a spectrum disorder. He betrays his lack of knowledge of the role that genetics plays in neurodevelopment. And his comments about ADHD and diet are repugnant. I know why the child has a poor diet…

This is typical fare for anti diagnosis thinking. People think that it is wrong to “label” children, but they don’t know how messy genetics is, nor how it does affect children in a disastrous educational system, where conformity is valued over everything else.

Yes. Exactly that. From someone I actually knew. Who had also been compromised. I won’t get it back. I am not going to try and restart there - it is 100x harder now to do so.

Teachers are constantly wrong - even when teaching children with special needs, because they lack the fundamentals of understanding neurodevelopment.

In fact, autism is seldom a singular neurodevelopmental condition, as it is intertwined with other neurological conditions. And what if it is not autism, but looks like it - like my son’s presupposed “autism”, which turned out not to be autism.

But this is absolute garbage when it comes to #ADHD, as diagnosis is vital. It is not about a “label”! Diagnosis opens the door to treatment and support - which is severely lacking. See, not all neurodevelopmental disorders are equal. And if a child is AuDHD? Then it becomes complex.

He must have a debilitating stroke, become so incapacitated he can’t walk, can’t speak, has to be pushed around in a wheelchair. He also needs to suffer incredible pain. For at least a decade.

I would argue that the UK has been actively discriminating against disabled people. From education to children in care, to employment, to benefits. It has been a constant eroding of human rights.

Perhaps then a case needs to be made at Strasbourg challenging the UK government violating disabled people’s human rights. The UNHRC has been very critical of the policies of the UK govt’s policies.

This proves how entrenched eugenics are in the legal system. People with learning disabilities are canon fodder for politicians - inconvenient, a nuisance. Lock them up and throw away the key is the prevailing attitude.

This should be appealed to the European Court of Human Rights. The judges hardly applied their minds in this matter. UK courts have a terrible track record when it comes to disabled people’s rights. This ruling puts the fear of God in me as a parent of learning disabled teen.

This is a terrible decision. The judiciary are compromised and actually so far out of touch. Judges are unwilling to confront the government, they lack courage and in my opinion are owned by the political class. They enforce classism and elitism.

Definitely not going to improve children’s lives. Outcomes? What about their lives, their lives wellbeing? The reforms are going to make it much, much worse - a lot of concern about the so-called reforms.

They then say, no pouch, no phone. It is not a solution. What is interesting is my daughter’s school in Scotland permits phones, but within reasonable boundaries, like not using it during class time.

The children take them home. Parents are expected to pay for them! There are quality issues with them too - they start falling apart fairly quickly. Children can unlock them too! My daughter had one in her last school in England.
