During ADHD awareness month no less 🥹 did I already mention not a single AI was used in the creation of my book? I even hired a research assistant to help interpret studies. I hired my friend Melli when I couldn’t draw backgrounds fast enough. I sacrificed a lot to get the book done,

Just finished reading @adhd-alien.bsky.social 's book and I feel so seen! I don't have ADHD myself (although I got very close to a diagnosis) but a lot of this stuff also applies to autism. Thank you, Pina, for making this book! I can use this to communicate stuff to people! ❤️

The superpower label was like putting a ribbon on a wound. If I am not allowed to voice my pain and heal, the wound will rot and spread. Before I can internalize praise, I need to feel understood for who I am with all my problems. I don't want to keep feeling like an alien by pretending I'm gifted and everything is perfect. All my life I have been measuring myself by other people's standards. Too much. Too little. And when people try to cheer me up by telling me I have a superpower, not only does it feel like I have to meet their expectations, I have to exceed them. It makes me feel like I'm not supposed to even be struggling. Like I'm all alone again.

Was going to make a comic about a funny ADHD situation but you know what, it wasn't funny and I cried because I'm just so exhausted before the day even starts (I have a book linktr.ee/adhdalien/)

I feel like @adhd-alien.bsky.social book would be really good for public and/or school libraries. Could help a bunch of kids and teens put a name to their brain operating differently from their peers. I was always horrible with homework myself, because I would forget it existed when home.
