This should be an interesting event. rse.org.uk/event/dyslexia-as-a-ment… It’s in Edinburgh on 5.9 and free to attend, tickets via Eventbrite. I already have my tickets, just have my return travel from Aberdeen to organise. #Dyslexia #MentalHealth #Talks #Edinburgh #FreeEvent

It certainly doesn’t feel like it’s been 7 years since I first started ADG (adult dyslexia group) and it’ll be back again in January for another year of drop in sessions and specialist stationery supplies at affordable prices. #WorkHardInSilence

Over the weekend I was volunteering at CLAN and from speaking to various people at their event, I may have sourced a new location in town for hosting ADG from but I need to get things organised first before I can make any announcements.

Long time, no updates. This silence wasn’t intentional, I got busy with work and trying various approaches to running ADG more effectively.

#Aberdeen people, do any of you have recs for affordable coworking/hot desk spaces? I’m needing something ones or twice a week in the city or shire (if it’s on bus routes, I can’t drive) for my small business. I’d prefer to avoid IW PLC owns and operated spaces (Regis, HQ etc) Thankies 🙂

I get it, sometimes you misdial a number but to just breathe and not speak when your call is answered is creepy. Do not start me on the voicemails that are silent for 30 seconds. As a small business owner, this kind of behaviour wastes my time.

Did you know that you can set up a reminder to add alt text on BlueSky? Just go to Settings, then Accessibility and make sure "Require alt text before posting" is toggled on - it’s a handy way to make sure you never forget, and it helps blind and partially sighted people to enjoy your posts!

This is why it’s important to add alt text. Because otherwise, your message could get lost for blind and partially sighted people. For Glaucoma Awareness Month, we’ve used a filter that demonstrates sight loss from glaucoma - however everyone's experience will be different.
This is why it’s important to add alt text” with a filter demonstrating glaucoma added. The text is black on a yellow background, but around the edges is a white shadow, which covers up some of the words and makes the post very hard to read and understand. On these images it looks a bit like a blur, but in reality people with glaucoma will just experience these areas as ‘missing'
