No wonder I’m knackered! Pretty much the walk home from work at midnight, back to work (different location) at 7am(ish), into town, down to Garthdee and home from there. I’ll sleep tonight! #StepsApp #Walking #DailyExercise
A circular progress tracker shows 21,664 steps today, with 7 floors climbed. The setting includes 899 kcal burned, 8.6 miles walked, and 3 minutes spent.

Dagnabit. Had a feeling this would happen. My trip to Ireland next month has been cancelled by the company I booked it with. I’ll use my refund and make my own arrangements.

This is now into double figures the follow request from “Julie” each one is a bot account with one post and some bullshit about making friends and a link to onlyfans and similar. Reported and blocked but BSKY don’t do anything about them and I’m fed up of playing whack-a-mole with this faker.
A dark blue screen with a pink icon and a plus sign next to a person silhouette. Text reads Julie followed you - 10s and a blue button with a plus sign and the words Follow back.

A black cat with enormous round eyes holds out a small red heart towards the viewer. Text reads: “A big thank you to everyone who is still putting good things into the world when the world gives us so many reasons not to.” Beside the cat, an arrow points to the heart with the words “For you.”

Aww! Silverchair got my hopes up and the. instantly dashed them. Be great to have a reunion show even if it is only a couple of songs at the finals.
Is this thing still on?
For the first time in ages, the three
 of us actually agree wholeheartedly
 about something: GO KNIGHTS!!!
It's all about the Knights this
weekend. We love how footy brings
 this community together, and it's
 pretty special watching the whole
Steel City get behind the boys.
Thanks to everyone who's asked if
we're playing before the game. We're
way too rusty, so sorry, no can do.
We won't be taking the stage, but
we'll be supporting as loudly as
everyone else and there in spirit.
Wishing the Newy players all the
luck in the world this Sunday.
 UP THE KNIGHTS!!!

As someone who was there and has a working memory, people are just *differently* annoying now. It's all nostalgia. The only difference I think is that communities are often *bigger*, which raises the absolute number of assholes. Back then sometimes you'd get lucky on a small board or something.

I have all of the various AI garbage bloatware turned off on my phone, tablet and laptop. Is there anyway yet to turn off the summarise icon in emails on iOS27? Most of the info I’ve found so far is for older versions of iOS.

Skeets App @skeetsapp.com · 18/09/2026
Skeets 1.32.0 is out. 🧵 The big one: Skeets writes your ALT text for you now - on-device. Drop a photo into the composer and the description is already there by the time you hit post. Edit it, regenerate it, pick a different language, or switch it off entirely.
What's New
 NEW
 • Auto-ALT-text written on your device. Add a photo and Skeets drafts the image
description text for you; edit it, write it again, or change its language. Needs iOS 27 and a
device with Apple Intelligence. Off switch under Settings → Composer.
 • Post as any of your accounts - pick the account right in the composer, without
 switching first.
 • Recent searches are remembered, and sync across your devices.
 • Notifications now come from our own service: quicker to arrive, better grouped, and you
can decide per category whether it covers everyone or only people you follow.
Subscription alerts now sit in the main list instead of their own tab.
 • Links to mu.social open in Skeets instead of the browser.
 • Posts shared from other apps finish sending even if iOS closes the share sheet early.
 FIXED
 • Auto-Thread: the Post button stayed greyed out on long posts.
 • Search did nothing at all on Top, Latest and Users.
 • Push notification settings quietly reverted instead of saving.
 • Muted accounts were still shown in full when someone quote-posted them.
 • Skeets Pro would not restore until the app was relaunched - and the Pro screen had no
 Restore button at all.
 • Posts with a link preview often failed to send when the preview image was large.
 • Some people were stuck in a "session expired" loop after updating and could not sign
 back in.
 • Switching accounts could briefly show the previous account's notifications.
 • Faster cold start.
 CHANGED
 • Haptic feedback is now off unless you ask for it - Settings → Composer.
 • Shortened handles and swipe-to-like now start switched off.

I was looking at the wee bucket ornaments in the RNLI shop and instead I got three mini plaques for £1 each. The bucket ornaments are the same artist/designer that made the sailing boat on my desk. I’ll need to find my spare hangables and display around my desk when I get home at the weekend.
