Ouuh some nice lore! It’s definitely bittersweet from purely a fan perspective. the transformers cybertron games they made right before joining cod are up there for me

I felt the same way when High Moon became a CoD support studio… all my hopes for a good, new transformers game

I’m fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to work at most places I eagerly wanted to join. As I’m thinking of leaving big tech I kinda realized once it’s crossed of the bucket list, you realize you can do a lot of the same things independently or elsewhere. The ppl end up being the best parts : )

I’d say thats a pretty good endgame to what I’m sure has been a fulfilling journey.

Technology being everywhere doesn’t mean it belongs everywhere. The tech industry wants us to believe that AI in early education is not only inevitable, but necessary. We don't see it that way. This week, we announced a moratorium on generative AI for public school students in 2-K to 8th grade.
We’re eliminating AI use for students in 2-K through 8th grade for the upcoming school year.

I am looking for full-time work starting October. I am a graphics programmer with a AAA experience (Ubisoft, Quantic), where I worked with real-time rendering, RT, and console dev kits. DMs open. RTs appreciated!

If it looks like an Amazon delivery and drives like an Amazon delivery, then it's an Amazon delivery, right? Not according to Amazon. Big companies like Amazon have built a vast network of subcontractors who deliver their packages while shielding them from accountability.

On the flip side, drove up to beautiful Bellingham and realized some of my favorite roads and nearby towns are in marked tsunami zones. On account of it being practically at sea level. Truly a wildly beautiful state. Do stay safe east!

gpu power consumption is directly correlated with what kernels its executing. you can write custom kernels in metal to perform whatever work you want done. ergo you have control over (relative) power usage & speed of the work

At SIGGRAPH 2026 I saw this absolute banger of a paper by James and James. Beautiful imagery, matched by beautiful technical work, by a father and son team, which won a best paper award. I've always loved marbleization patterns. dougjam.github.io/mixwell-2026/ www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...

Or directional guidance for the blind or low vision etc. stuff that worked and could genuinely improve lives of elderly or disabled. But ofc it had to be funded by the exploitative, morally bankrupt social media company *sigh*

It’s a shame cause I remember working with some really brilliant scientists at meta enabling insanely cool accessibility through glasses. Stuff like “silent speech” where with v high accuracy you could discern speech through the mechanical waves of someone moving their tongue wearing the glasses

Inspired by @mmalex.bsky.social's dots experiments recently, tried to do some kind of "particle DOF" in the fluff renderer, effectively blowing out every particle's microparticles which gives a kind of uncanny effect that also melts my GPU with overdraw.

I’ve also got a decent backlog of rpi and arduino projects I wanna go back to, port to esp, and give them decent web servers. Vibe coding such low stakes fun projects is fun, and sometimes you learn some new stuff : D

My Pops picked up photography about ten years ago, but the pandemic turned him into a full‑blown student of the craft. He spends many of his summer evenings capturing hummingbirds — and recently learned their wings can act like tiny prisms when the light hits just right. Magic in motion.
