I've had a seasonal cough (allergies) the last week and a half. My choices seem to be "coughing crap out of my lungs" or "groggy from medication." Neither is conducive to writing. (Not asking for advice. Complaining. That thing that works for you? Tried it. Didn't work/made me groggy. Thanks.)

I used AI to look this up, and it was literally my first use of AI, because I thought it was very, very funny to use it for this one thing. If someone repeats the propaganda that ChatGPT has a billion users... ask them how many actually pay for it. The answer is five percent. Feel free to share.

Roughly 5% of ChatGPT users pay for a subscription tier.

It's just so odd. It's one thing to be an addict. It's another to assume everyone else is addicted to the same thing. I have never knowingly clicked on an AI tool. I've never opened ChatGPT or Claude. If you're defining AI to include spellcheck... I'd miss it, but I own a great dictionary.

Saw a sneak preview of ROGUE TROOPER yesterday: a fun, funny sci-fi action movie from @manmademoon.bsky.social that perfectly captures the anarchic tone of @2000ad.bsky.social. And the end credits list everyone who ever worked on the comics. Would love to see Marvel and DC follow suit.

I chose Bard College for a lot of reasons, and the absence of a “Greek system” was high on a list. Giving elitist rich kid cliques sovereignty over whole buildings and other teenagers seemed, even to 17 year old me, like a very bad thing.

Got another author scam email, and this had one of my favorite all-time errors: spelling Iain Dale's name Lain Dale. I guess if you're used to a Cyrillic alphabet that's an easy mistake to make. One common pattern: they're often offers to help me promote books from five years ago or more.
