September is Bi Visibility Month, so perceiving me may be easier, as all bisexuals have disadvantage on stealth rolls until Halloween 1st.

BI REMINDER
💜Bisexual women are still bi even if they're dating men
🩷Bisexual men exist, and they're not "just gay"
💙Ace/Aro bisexuals, & Nonbinary
bisexuals exist
💜Sexual orientation is about attraction, not action
🩷Bisexuals dont need to have dated all the genders/gender identities they re attracted to - to know they're attracted to them

‘Say yes and never do it’ Mel Brooks knew how to deal with the studios

You have some wonderful stories of basically getting away with stuff at the studios.

I’d learned one very simple trick: say yes. Simply say yes. Like Joseph E. Levine, on “The Producers,” said, “The curly-haired guy—he’s funny looking. Fire him.” He wanted me to fire Gene Wilder. And I said, “Yes, he’s gone. I’m firing him.” I never did. But he forgot. After the screening of “Blazing Saddles,” the head of Warner Bros. threw me into the manager’s office, gave me a legal pad and a pencil, and gave me maybe twenty notes. He would have changed “Blazing Saddles” from a daring, funny, crazy picture to a stultified, dull, dusty old Western. He said, “No farting.” I said, “It’s out.”

That’s probably the most famous scene in the movie, the campfire scene.

I know. He said, “You can’t punch a horse.” I said, “You’ll never see it again.” I kept saying, “You’re absolutely right. It’s out!” Then, when he left, I crumpled up all his notes, and I tossed it in the wastepaper basket. And John Calley, who was running [production at] Warner Bros. at the time, said, “Good filing.” That was the end of it. You say yes, and you never do it.

That’s great advice for life.

It is. Don’t fight them. Don’t waste your time struggling with them and trying to make sense to them. They’ll never understand.

Two panel comic. Panel 1: a chrysalis hangs from a branch in a tree. Panel 2: inside the chrysalis is a small room. A caterpillar is sitting on the floor looking exhausted and frustrated with its head in its hand. Scattered on the floor around the caterpillar are large parts of butterfly wings in boxes like pieces of furniture that require assembly, and an electric drill, and a beer.

Three panel comic. Panel 1: a guy seated and getting a haircut notices something unusual about the barbershop flyer on the wall that displays haircut options. He says, “hey, wait a minute…” and begins to unfold the bottom of the poster, which is tucked underneath it. Panel 2: he continues as he unfolds the paper. “There’s more haircuts under here.” Behind him, his barber stares grimly, his face cast in shadow. Panel 3: the poster is unfolded on the ground, displaying a continued list of increasingly bizarre haircuts, including a rectangular prism mustache and hair in the shape of a duck. Cast in shadow against the poster is the shadow of the barber strangling the client. He knows too much.

To our dismay, the artist and author Marjane Satrapi has passed away. As she wrote, ordinary Americans and Iranians have more in common with each other than we do with either of our governments, which have far too much in common with each other. We honor her memory and oppose the war.

NO WAR WITH IRAN!
The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West.
You are American, I am Iranian, we don’t know each other, but we talk together
& we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you
& your government is much bigger than the difference
between you & me.
And the difference between me
& my government is much bigger
than the difference
between me & you.
And our governments are very much the same...
—Marjane Satrapi

Deepfakes are everywhere, but digital forensics investigators are fighting back. Learn more: scim.ag/42dMPBg

To verify images, digital forensics investigators will often check whether the geometry of the scene is realistic. In a real photo, lines that run parallel in reality—like floor tiles—should meet at a single vanishing point. In this image, however, the dotted lines do not meet in a single point, indicating it is a fake.
Image: an AI-generated image of soldiers marching down a hallway in three lines, wearing fatigues and carrying rifles. Four dotted white lines have been added over the image, running along the floor tiles visible in the foreground and extending back to where the vanishing point should be, behind the soldiers. Instead of meeting in a single point, the lines all cross at different points.

Investigators also examine reflections. The lines connecting points on an object to matching points in its mirror image run parallel in reality, so similarly should meet at a vanishing point. In this image, the lines again do not converge on one point, revealing it to be a fake.
Image: An AI-generated image of a plastic cartoon dinosaur toy with its reflection visible in a small mirror. Four dotted white lines are layered over the image, connecting points on the toy with the same points on its reflection: the top of its eye, the end of its jaw, its hand, and its foot. The lines extend out to the side of the image, where they all cross at different points rather than meeting at a single point.
