The GMC has been able to spend unlimited funds on its own lawyers thanks to the metaphorical blank cheque handed to it. We don’t have that luxury and it’s important we are able to pay our lawyers for their hard work. www.crowdjustice.com/case/stop-mi...

Stop misleading patients - Physician Associates cannot replace doctors
We are a group of anaesthetists (doctors trained in anaesthesia) that are unhappy with the way the medical establishment is selling patients and the profession short.

We would not want to think the College had had the wool pulled over its head by nuances of wording, so we would welcome clarification from the RCP as to the exact terminology that was used in the answer given to Professor Kar’s question.

Did Mr Massey tell the RCP that the GMC would "accept" College scope for PAs, or "utilise" it? A commitment to “utilise” rather than “adopt” would mean GMC having regard to, but not consider itself bound to or committed to enforce, such guidance. anaesthetistsunited.com/what-exactly...

Hi @assocanaes.bsky.social when did this happen please? When did we start admitting AAs to an association of anaesthetists? Were the membership balloted before this change? Does @assocanaes.bsky.social approve/endorse AAs? @bma.org.uk @anaesunited.bsky.social

A potentially full stomach is always an anaesthetic risk In a theatre environment we can mitigate, RSI In a non theatre environment, protecting the airway can be difficult They're is a paucity of evidence with these drugs

I'm wary of end points comparing very short interventions, a year down the line. I'm interested in what the cognoitive function is like that evening, the next day, may at the end of the week. What's the median 12 month mortality for this population?

I’m worried sick about patient safety as highly trained clinicians are replaced by 2yr-trained associates. Does this make me a “social media rabble”? Or is the “be kind” movement being cynically weaponised? Those monitoring my posts, put this on the agenda for the meeting you’ve asked me to attend.

Many trees in frame, but a tree towers over all others as the subject of this portrait. The sun, shines low in the sky making the subject almost silhouette but not quite.

lots of devastation and negativity on the feed today. i know this won’t solve anything, but maybe it’ll make someone smile and just forget for a small moment. the beauty of the cosmos 🌌
Large orange, yellow, and red clouds of dust and gas tower in the image, interspersed with a few pink stars.A spiral galaxy with a wide, oval-shaped disk. It has a shining spot at the center from which two curving, pale red spiral arms emerge, wrapping once each around the galaxy. They’re surrounded by a whirl of bright threads and patches of dust, with spots of star formation scattered throughout. The glow of the disk fades smoothly into the background where some patches of dust can be seen, as well as foreground stars. The Orion Nebula is an expansive and cloudy cosmic landscape. Sweeping clouds that shine in pink, yellow, orange, and other colors are bright against the black backdrop of space. Big stars are forming and glowing within the nebula.Hundreds of stars and galaxies in varying shapes, sizes and colors on a black background. Two of the largest, most prominent stars can be found in the top left quadrant and near the bottom right edge, respectively. They are tinged with blue and have an eight-point diffraction spike pattern. Near the center of this image is the ZS7 system, made up of a merger between two galaxies and their black holes. The ZS7 system is not easily seen by the naked eye in this image, as it looks like very small red dots.

Meet the destroyer HMS Glowworm. In April 1940 she was forced to fight the German Heavy Cruiser Admiral Hipper, ten times her size, and Hipper's destroyer escorts. Her extraordinary last stand earned her captain the first Victoria Cross of WW2. In part because THE GERMANS nominated him for one /1 🧵

Respect your opinion but it might we worth considering flu shots. One thought process is that overtime you build up immunity to all of the various influenza subunits, so one day, when a bastard flu subunit combo comes along, you have some immunity.
