I feel similarly to you - I was so worried about not being included that being included at all (which I think must be the first time for us to be explicitly included in UK law) feels significant, but knowing that there are loopholes which can be used...this is bad 🫠

After years of activists and organisations advocating for a ban for conversion therapy, the UK government has finally published a draft bill. I have learnt that asexual people will be included, which I personally was worried we wouldn't be. However there are big concerns about the bill, see below ⬇️

I've been so fortunate to have incredible people in my personal life, which has made things so much easier for me. Although I had my own internalised acephobia to work through, I haven't worried a lot about whether the people in my personal life will be accepting and supportive of my queerness.

I am not able to do advocacy work alone. I have worked with a lot of people over the years, and I have learnt a lot. I still feel like I'm learning how to do this. A lot of asexual people have shared their stories and perspectives with me, which has greatly shaped my work.
