Once upon a time I just admired nudis and sea slugs. But it was not enough. Now apparently I'm creating an R package to celebrate their colour palettes? 😅 First up, my Sydney fave, Hypselodoris bennetti. #rstats #nudibranch #dataviz 🦑🐙🧪 #marinelife #invertebrates

A beautiful moth resting on a hand. The moth is black, with high contrast red markings - red lines down the outside edge of the wings, and two red spots at the base of each wing.

A colored illustration of a variety of different shaped bristle worms, all in close proximity or overlapping each other. Their mostly orange, yellow and red segmented bodies contrast highly against a greenish background.

Same artwork as above, annotated with species featured in the pattern.
From left to right, Calloria lampshell, a clam-like animal. Veliger stage snail larva, a curly x-shape with round shell in the middle. Tosia australis biscuit star aberrant form, a four-pointed sea star. Botryllus star tunicate, a rounded six-star shape. Aurelia moon jellyfish, a circle with lines running radially through it. Brittle star larva, a nearly triangular shape with points sticking out of it. Anacheirurus trilobite segment, repeated arthropod back segments. Reteporella bryozoan, hard to explain dashes that form curves. Echinometra sea urchin test, circular patterns that radiate from a center point. Diacrotricha plume moth, a moth that looks like it has many wings. Aglaophenia hydrozoan, fern-like animal. Ephippodonta moon clam, an open clam that looks like a circle with line in the middle. Velella hydrozoan, a slanted oval with hard geometric lines around it.

A long artwork with various patterns arranged in hard geometric shapes. Near the middle slightly off center is a moth surrounded by two layers of diamond shapes, each with different geometric patterns inspired by invertebrates. Crossing the diamond is a large X-shape depicting the segments of an arthropod. Outside all of this are various vaguely animal-shaped patterns arranged in circular and rectangular segments.

The media forensically dissects the pasts of people who challenge the status quo, such as Polanski and Corbyn. Fair enough, up to a point: we should know about our representatives. But it's far less inquisitive about those who defend power, however great their misdeeds, such as Nigel Farage.🧵
