“No NEW wars” was the trick, and I can’t believe people fell for it, but many did (including most media). If Americans have to hear about war in a new location, that is bad and the US president’s fault (Libya, Ukraine). Trump Term 1 worsened Syria, Iran, Yemen, Afghanistan, but that doesn’t count.

The thing about "Me Too" if you were an innocent cis-guy who was surprised by how common rape/harassment was, is you either decided a bunch of women you knew were liars, or you decided sexual violence was a bigger problem than you realized, and I feel like that should not actually be a hard choice.

To the extent that this election cycle might portend an actual realignment (as opposed to just a bad cycle for the GOP), I think the race to watch is Idaho senate. Trump won Idaho by over 36 points, but polls show the GOP incumbent in trouble against an independent.

This is absolutely why I stopped watching procedurals and some detective shows. The audience knowing who is guilty while the defense attorney is the antagonist to the cop protagonist is just such a distortion of the justice system.

I finished watching Gotham Knights (from 2023) and feel like it's very much a part of this. It feels very much like a Batman AU, and really enjoyed it as someone who has read a lot of Batman adjacent stuff. But if you're a more casual fan who just wants to watch Batman, this is absolutely Not That.

Not to be a lefty doomer, but I don't really think the GOP being reduced to 47 senate seats is "end days" for the GOP. The thread doesn't specify, but I assume Dems win all current seats, + ME, NC, IA, OH, TX, and AK to get to 53. That's mostly just a normal bad year for the GOP.
