As an @ifbookspod.bsky.social listener, I am somehow still surprised when I see someone in the wild on a plane with a book Mike and Peter have covered. (In this case, The Let Them Theory.)

I love when reading a book feels like walking into a room and finding an old friend you didn’t realize you missed. Had a perfect day reading Daggerbound by @tkingfisher.com , and now I get to listen to it.

Nothing makes me appreciate the experience of being on the @ncph.bsky.social Board like attending department meetings. Like, oh, a group of people with a shared purpose can engage in collaborative discussion that includes disagreement? And we can ask questions? And trust others’ expertise & intent?

I am in a sandwich shop and the teenage/20s-ish employees have reached the time when they switch who gets to be in charge of the playlist, so the heavy metal is OFF and “thank u next” is ON.

My favorite thing for me personally about the student loan/PSLF shitshow is that I applied for buyback in September 2025, and I still haven’t gotten a response. It’s wild how gutting the bureaucracy didn’t make anything more efficient. Who could’ve known????

As someone living in Michigan, it is truly wild to see the attack ads on Abdul el-Sayed. They boldly state that he’s sexist, and the evidence is Abdul making a remark critical of a female politician’s policy. This is not sexism, but it sure is attempting to prey on latent Islamophobia.

Y’all I don’t even like Taco Bell, but everyone needs to leave them alone because they are actually being incredibly responsible in trying to protect people. This is an Elon Musk/RFK Jr problem. They are the sentient explosive diarrhea parasites who ushered this in.

I’m rewatching DS9 for the millionth time, and one of my favorite things is how the Jem’Hadar ships don’t have chairs bc they’re super tough warriors who are apparently incredibly dependent on inertial dampeners. The vibe is so tech-bro-biohacker “sitting is death.”

Buster marches in a military drill formation, gripping a rifle with exaggerated enthusiasm. His mouth is wide open in a giddy, almost manic smile, and his eyes are wide behind wire-rimmed glasses. He wears a camo cap and brown T-shirt like the others, but his over-the-top expression starkly contrasts with the serious, focused demeanor of the soldiers around him.

Why do so many places that sell t-shirts choose violence when they make their size guides? “We could just tell customers the dimensions, but what if we show them every size on a random person instead?” “Ooh, and what if we give them a height/weight chart too?!”

Can we ban the phrase “no one knows about X”? Bc it must means you didn’t know. If someone wrote a book about it, I promise plenty of people know. Just say you recently learned about it, and let’s be proud of our curiosity.

I am too tired to be posting on here, but I really need political commentators to stop saying that it’s unprecedented for a president to refuse to follow a SCOTUS decision. Andrew Jackson quite famously ignored the decision in Worcester v Georgia to continue Indian Removal.
