Well yes in retrospect the large heaving beast bounding right by my flank out of nowhere in the woods was statistically speaking always going to have been a deer but you can’t put the shit back in your ass as the famous saying goes.

Every time I get a little spooked walking out in the woods I kind of hope it's a bear sneaking up behind me but I obviously don't want it to be a bear because I don't want to be mauled.

But I kind of do want to.

This is what passive suicidal ideation is like.

Then when I want to live I imagine myself fighting it off with the perfect sized stick I've just found on the trail.
