Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is.

Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.

Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.

an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol

I get at least one of these every day. Not sure using AI to regurgitate my own ad copy is the best way to sell your marketing skills?

AI slop text: "I'm BLANK, a book marketing specialist, and I recently completed a study of your publishing journey. What immediately stands out is the wonderfully weird, deeply relatable world you built in 10 Awkward Years. Ten monstrous years. One monstrous book. Serenity Rose is 4'10", painfully shy, and totally into girls (shhh). She can also conjure monsters out of ectoplasm, hover 20,000 feet in the air, and shapeshift anything she sees. Serenity Rose is a witch, one of only fifty seven the world over, a real supernatural oddity. And sadly for her, she lives in the glare of a tiny tourist trap that thrives on supernatural oddities. Such fun. Horror. Terror. Crippling social anxiety. The full Serenity Rose deal in one big thingee. That combination of cosmic power and crippling social anxiety is exactly what makes this collection so unforgettable. Readers come for the monsters and stay for the girl who can shapeshift anything she sees but cannot quite figure out how to talk to a cute girl. This is the kind of emotional core that turns a graphic novel collection into something readers carry with them long after the last page. This kind of world building tells me you understand that writing is only half the battle. The other half is making sure every book actually reaches the readers who need to read it."

DID YOU KNOW: Our new stop-motion star Sunny Von Shock is already in three dang books? You can get them all if you yell at your favorite bookseller loud enough! (Or just whisper gently, your call.)

Stop-motion puppet Sunny Von Shock is startled to realize she's in three books. She yells "WHAT?? I'M IN THREE BOOKS ALREADY?" The covers of IT'S NOT SCARY!, SHOCK CITY, and SHOCK CITY PUNKS float beside her.

I repost this every few months, but it's time to do it again. Use this seal! It fits nicely in the awards section on Steam. If you don't use AI, tell everyone about it. I have it both on my store page and in the game itself. Every indie game dev should use this, except the sloppers I guess.

ANNOUNCEMENT: I’ll be at Tucson Comic-Con September 4-6 at the Tucson Convention Center, table AA 78. A bunch of ZIM characters are exploding out toward us in what I assume is joy at the annunciation.
