Husband and I talking about starbucks in fairport village closing and what to do with the building. He was thinking a new business. I suggested tearing it down and turning it into a park as a warning to any other corporation that thinks about moving into the village.

My dad was a bricklayer (retired). His shoulders gave out long before his retirement kicked in. No, he didn’t stop working, he just lived with the pain.

Lawsuits and criminal prosecutions are the compromise position. There’s also systematic extermination of rapists as they’re identified. Maybe men need to be reminded of that.

Just found out that the starbucks that hasn’t been in town more than 2 yrs is closing this sunday. That’s right, we starved them out. That’s what loyalty to local business can do. Good riddance.

I mean, unless you're a for-profit insurance company who might have to pay for cancer treatment, then you override the doctor's order for MRI/CT scan to diagnose and whoops, two years later your uncle's died from lung cancer that spread to the rest of his body because it wasn't found in time.

Seeing people in my neighborhood who I know are registered democrats putting out signs for local republican candidates is a good reminder that reactionary centrists will always pull right when they don't get their way rather than work with liberals or leftists.

Cyclists were the primary force behind organized political pressure for better, paved roads before the arrival of cars and drivers. Drivers now think they own the road and oppose safe infrastructure for all other road users. What if tanks started using roads and were crushing cars and people?

when you believe in UBI, it's hard to think "wow that disabled person isn't trying hard enough to work" maybe they shouldn't HAVE to work. maybe they should have a role in society that's safe, comfortable, & "productive" in their own way (incl making art, having meaningful convos, learning stuff)
