YouTube refusing to show ads for the #Musk documentary is a very bad sign. Everybody thinks that when the TV networks and streamers bend the knee, FCC dissidents like Kimmel or Colbert can just put it up on YouTube. That's not going to last. Also YouTube is obviously going to be the last of the […]

This is exactly the kind of thing that might piss off Elon Musk, who has a notoriously thin skin and needs no excuse to slip into a fit of rage. Also: This is partly the reason why I’m glad I put off the Switch 2 review. Just don’t get too comfortable with me “pivoting to video” though… #Switch2 #VideoGames
A Nintendo Switch 2 sits on my desk next to a box containing the Genki Shadowcast 3 Pro and two empty game cases for Trails in the Sky: 2nd Chapter and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. From left to right, the games on the Switch 2 carousel are No Man’s Sky, Fallout 4, Trails in the Sky: 2nd Chapter, and Woodo.

Four books are standing up on my desk. From left to right: The first volume of Naoki Urasawa’s Monster, the first omnibus collection of Noragami: Stray God with volumes one through three, Tim Berners-Lee’s This is For Everyone, and Gamesmaster: An Oral History by Dominik Diamond and Jack Templeton.

San Francisco artists are replacing AI and big tech ads with guerrilla signs like this.
A hand drawn poster placed in the billboard at a bus stop. The sign says "Jeopardy for techies: They are scared of educated women and minorities. Correct Response: Who are the chodes running Palantir?" Part of the sign is yellow text with blue background, resembling the Jeopardy format.

Stumbled across this: The root of "female" has nothing to do with "male". It derives from the Mediaeval Latin femella, a diminutive of femina, a woman. It was mistakenly transcribed in Middle English as "female", perhaps creating the impression that a woman is a version/variant/ subset of a man.

I’m in the Drawing Room in Blue Prince, which overlooks the west side in this particular run. I have forty-two steps and three keys, but not much else. Nothing else in the room is remarkable save for the window to the outside, a few chairs and tables, and a former fireplace with a clock resting on the mantlepiece.
