Also: This is partly the reason why I’m glad I put off the Switch 2 review. Just don’t get too comfortable with me “pivoting to video” though… #Switch2 #VideoGames
A Nintendo Switch 2 sits on my desk next to a box containing the Genki Shadowcast 3 Pro and two empty game cases for Trails in the Sky: 2nd Chapter and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. From left to right, the games on the Switch 2 carousel are No Man’s Sky, Fallout 4, Trails in the Sky: 2nd Chapter, and Woodo.

Why I’ve been absent this time around: prompted.ink/2026/09/19/an-excuse-a… Plus a belated #FridayReads with some comfort reading and one manga I finished in early September. Yes, I’m still working on This Is For Everyone. #blogging
Four books are standing up on my desk. From left to right: The first volume of Naoki Urasawa’s Monster, the first omnibus collection of Noragami: Stray God with volumes one through three, Tim Berners-Lee’s This is For Everyone, and Gamesmaster: An Oral History by Dominik Diamond and Jack Templeton.

Was motivated to finish More Everything Forever before the end of March—partly in relation to a future/long-overdue travel blog post—and went straight into the Handmaids Tale which gets a five-star recommendation from me. In brief: Reminded me a lot of Cory […] [Original post on mastodon.social]
I have four books standing upright on my desk, from left to right: The Quarry by Iain Banks, Okinawa by Susumu Higa, A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller Jr., and This is for Everyone: The Unfinished Story of the World Wide Web by Tim Berners-Lee.

Just finished Henk Roger’s The Perfect Game eariler today, which inspired me to go and play another round of Tetris Forever with a little bit of Gaiden, Famicom, and the Electronika 60! More Everything Forever currently feels like a long read so I’m backing […] [Original post on mastodon.social]
There are three books lying flat on my red and green, tartan duvet—the topmost book being Adam Becker’s More Everything Forever while the bottom two, from left to right are Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale and Iain Banks’s The Quarry.

You could tell me that Resident Evil: Requiem manages to run well and look brilliant on the Switch 2, or that Metroid Prime 4 looks gorgeous on a 4K television while running smooth and I would just say, “Neat!” I’m just happy that we finally got Blue Prince […] [Original post on mastodon.social]
I’m in the Drawing Room in Blue Prince, which overlooks the west side in this particular run. I have forty-two steps and three keys, but not much else. A sketch portrait of (presumably) the mansion’s owner, Herbert Sinclair, rests on an easel in front of me. Nothing else in the room is remarkable save for the window to the outside, a few chairs and tables, and a former fireplace with a clock resting on the mantlepiece.

Where my blog and head are at in 2026: prompted.ink/2026/02/28/current-sta… Two goals carry over, one complete but still ongoing, and one impromptu. Add one to aid the information diet for self-care as well. Also, I’m getting […] [Original post on mastodon.social]
Three things sit on top of my desk, from left to right: A tape from the band Pocket Vinyl titled “Banned Books”, a iPhone displaying the Libro.fm app on the “Pimsleur Dutch Level 1” audiobook, and an orange box from Magnetic Poetry Kit consisting of Dutch words that can be arranged into sentences.

Going to blog later with poll results and what my game plan is, but for now here are my #FridayReads for the months of February and March. Currently reading Free Ride, which has been a comfort read for the past couple weeks. It’s a travel memoir that doesn’t […] [Original post on mastodon.social]
There are three books standing upright on my desk, from left to right: More Everything Forever by Adam Becker, Free Ride by Noraly Schoenmaker, and The Perfect Game by Henk Rogers. While Becker’s book is merely the text launching itself into outer space, Schoenmaker herself stands next to her Royal Enfield, Basanti, in the middle of a dirt path road through a mountain range (possibly the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan based on the back cover, but don’t go by me), and Tetris blocks fall behind the face of Henk Rogers. Side note: Rogers’s book cover is also lenticular.

It’s been a long time, but I’m starting the new year with a #FridayReads title that I started shortly after seeing Cory Doctorow talk at R.J. Julia’s. I bought this edition of Down & Out *way* back when I first started reading Cory w/Overclocked*, Makers […] [Original post on mastodon.social]
A copy of Cory Doctorow’s book, Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom, with the “o” being represented by a cogwheel. A distorted and elongated silhouette of Disney’s iconic mouse logo waves underneath the title next to a smiling, animated plug.

Also, this just came in shortly after I wrote the previous post… I’ve got some reading to do before the new year begins! 😊📚 (Also: I’ve read the digital edition and I’d definitely reccomend giving Ninsight your attention if you’re looking for print gaming […] [Original post on mastodon.social]

Thankfully found a trader before the sun set for the first night. Unfortunately, I had nothing of course—and I need to make a shelter first before even considering a trade. I'll get there someday! #VintageStory
A white-bearded trader, going by Oliver, sits in his caravan as he makes conversation with me. He's also a little similar to Santa Claus with his red cap and vest. I also have a bit more in my inventory—stone, berries, and even some copper too.

I'm looking down at a couple of trees within a rocky clearing near my spawn point in Vintage Story. It's overcast and there's some Silent Hill-like fog in the distance. Also, it's snowing.A clearing in the woods and a windowing detailing my Vintage Story character—a brown haired commoner dressed in a button-down shirt, blue jeans, and brown waders. The profile window also notes that it "rains all the time" in the area and that I'm "soaking wet". Decided to replace the Unbound Reading Club pin badges in my desk shadow box with the Iconfactory duo and they fit right in.
A shadow box containing a plethora of pin badges: Highlights include the 1970s Tardis console on the bottom between the Stone Age Gamer mascot caveman & Jack Frost from Shin Megami Tensei, the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy book cover next to the lost png from the 90s edition(s) of Microsoft Windows, the classic Mac computer icons on the bottom right, a couple of CheapShow pins representing notable segments in the podcast, etc.

On a semi-related note and a question for the Fediverse: Where would I be able to find and purchase a tape player? (Reason being is pictured below.) Doesn’t need to be cheap, but I’m want to find one that will ideally be sturdy. I also know of EBay, but any […] [Original post on mastodon.social]
There are three tapes on the surface of a desk: Madija’s album, Step Inside is on the top with a lone palm-tree stretching out into the sunset (?). The two tapes beneath Step Inside are different versions of GameGrooves’s Goldenrod CityPop. Each cover depicts a different part of Goldenrod City from Pokémon Gold/Silver, which form to make a complete mural of the landscape from the Radio Tower to the Department Store.
