I recall a time when LFC signed a world class star our fans would be ecstatic & excited to see him play. Now it’s…‘yeah, that’s great but what about right-back cover?’. I love football and Liverpool are in my DNA but sometimes it’s good to have a look at the world and realise how lucky we are.

Personally I’m happy we’ve not blown millions on players apart from the key player we wanted, we got. I’m sure we’ll do well this season. City and Chelsea are corrupt and ruined the PL with their monopoly games. I’m glad we’re not like them. Be happy, support #LFC #YNWA #COYR 🔴👊🏽

Liverpool have done well (for the most part) by not bringing in the *wrong* players, which is almost as important as bringing in the right ones. but the counterargument is that this has been in the cards for a long time and the fact that there are zero left-footed attackers in the squad is nuts

Liverpool saw Savio got for 80 mil and Minteh valued at 80 mil and said ain’t no way Gakpo is in that value bracket. Might be the only time Hughes did his job well in the last month

Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
W palace/brighton wanting ~80mill, selling gakpo for just 85 (by comparison) would’ve been a stupid move. Yes his wages are high, but he’s experienced. He’ll be rotated at RW. Reassess in Jan for minteh. Rayan release clause of 100m next summer looks cheap again in context sarr/minteh quoted 80.

Still in the camp of don't but for buyings sake. If the right player isn't available i'm all for the club waiting and looking at Jan window as a possibility. Other clubs spending may result in less competition for someone like Kroupi for example. If City buy Gakpo they & LFC are rulled out surely

Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 29/08/2026
If gakpo truly on >225k/wk, & being sold at that profit it’s hard not to take it now. Add to that the season he had last year & you really can’t say no. We all know the issue w squad depth, so it just leaves a massive task w 3 days left to get a RW.. ./1

Again, Jacquet has to go to the touchline to cover for Frimpong, who is seen coming back — but not at full sprint. The quick throw-in does not cause any change in reaction from Frimpong, and the open 1v1 leads to a penalty, while looks on from the far left corner. #LFC

Interesting trying to bring his background team from Bou, some of whom were just long time Bou staff. Could be clever to try get some former LFC role models in there too. But also worry about their credentials and experience , this is a massive step up

No idea why Tuchel is getting all the hate over his squad selection. Toney's experience playing in half-empty stadiums under an authoritarian regime could prove invaluable.

And why is the US military still able to use UK bases? Why is Palantir - a US spy tech company - so embedded into our vital infrastructure? And why do we have a Labour Govenrment who absolutely cower at the idea of speaking out against the criminal President?

@distancecovered.bsky.social as per your recent article, we simply don’t have the personnel. Not only wingers, RB, but MFs too Where the fuck are grav & szobo off to here?! Not a single midfielder thinking about sitting plugging holes , pass takes out 4 and then it’s 3v1 overload, so fucking shite

New York Times, like lots of liberal media, even in opposition to war, always talk about war on Iran being something that should actually be a "reasonable debate". This is such imperial discourse. Imagine other country's ndiscussing whether war on the US is reasonable

Klopp saved the Premier League as a competition because only his sheer brilliance at Liverpool kept the title race close. I don't think even Pep could have achieved what he did there. It is shameful how few trophies Liverpool have to show for his tenure.

this continues to tell the true story. slot is giving the players a better platform than they are returning. so many inidividual errors in defence & big chances missed in attack. the recruitment decisions continue to harm slot, esp in defence. vvd the only cb who is here to stay.

@dankennett.co.uk as per your recent article, so weak at set pieces. Why is Salah taking corners now? A high soft cross into vvd who can’t direct it on target. And 1 min later they score from their GK. Compared to arsenals whipped corners where they load the 6 yd box, it’s so dire.
