Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 11/10/2026You followed it with a ‘but’. Let’s suppose we have 2/5 those injured, the Manc ref doesn’t fuck us, and we nick a 1-0 win today? I don’t think you’d be on here re Richard Hughes. Squad planning is bigger picture, 4-5 years viewing. Not making conclusions after 1 game in context rife w injury 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 11/10/2026Hard disagree, atrocious? Certainly not. All hindsight. Foresight much harder. We have had horrid luck with injuries. Making a conclusion like you have on a day like today, given how much we contained them in 60 mins, is silly. Add Bradley, leoni, szobo, isak, gakpo to today. 100

Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 29/09/2026It is simply baffling that he was left behind for WC, even more so after livramento withdrawal. Crazy. As an LFC fan, disappointed for Trent. As an Irishman, delighted he wasn’t there to help England do it :) 020
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Our forwards can’t keep the ball though, the MF need an out. 000
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Alex Scott bought a plane ticket from Michael Oliver for that foul 000
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 20/09/2026There is simply no defending wirtz today, come on take off your rose tinted glasses. He’s given it away 6 times 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 20/09/2026He’s not awful though. Many of them are. His mnf analysis typically decent and his knowledge is deep. He’s at least shown effort over the years to improve too. Nev by contrast has gone the other way, whilst others stagnate in comfort . 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 20/09/2026He’s certainly one of the better sky pundits, they have far worse. Think his point was how arteta tries to use havertz similar to bobby, but he acknowledged the difference. We’ve been bang average today so I his criticism is fair 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Don’t think he’s gotten much wrong today, fairly critical of this poor LFC performance 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 19/09/2026At least it means if we lose by 3, it will be forever known as the curse of the 3 B’s and truly we never stood a chance. 000
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 19/09/2026But where are you getting penetration in behind and runs to stretch the defence, and pace and skill to beat defenders 1v1. I think you have grossly oversimplified brightons win and the context of our squad last year. 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 19/09/2026He’s a coward, simple as. He holds the power , not the promoters. If you have a voice in a position of power, use it for good. 000
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 15/09/2026RB only place that provides balance with wirtz at 10 and araujo/frimpong as the only other RB options. RB for szobo could really work if he accepted it . 010
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Passers at FB/DM then we will continue to look a bit stuck. The contract extensions of szobo/grav are beginning to look some of the worst business we have done unfortunately. 000
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 12/09/2026We are now seeing a clash of style between new manager and old players - Grav/szobo just aren’t intelligent enough to play the pivot. Too many carriers between DM/FB , and our attackers suffer. All our attackers bar ngumoha thrive in quick transition with space behind. Unless we get deep progressive 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 12/09/2026💯 this, said it so many times last year, far too many low IQ players 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Distance covered literally does not matter , it doesn’t correlate to winning or being successful. Even iraola has said as much, paying more attention to number of high speed sprints / actions. That’s intensity. What we lacked today wasn’t more running, it’s sharper, quicker passing and creativity. 010
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 12/09/2026This is the big issue with the lack of a progressive passer from deep. Wirtz/isak/barcola all need & benefit from early balls in transition. Full backs and midfielders that are carriers and slow it down , just makes it easier for all the prem teams that like to drop and sit w block against us. 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 12/09/2026And jones was dead right for fuming with him. He needs to go asap 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 12/09/2026For all of his poor attributes on the ball, one of the things I dislike most about him is his arrogance. He tries to make up for lack of strength/pace by stupidly going in heavy at the wrong time making fouls, and has the gaul to complain. Thinking he could take the armband preseason was horrid 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Szobo/Grav as a combo just doesn’t work. No protection of the ball, and no zippy passes from deep. Tsimikas/araujo also not gonna offer much from full back. Get kerkez and Nyoni asap 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 12/09/2026And Tsimikas/araujo as full backs not exactly offering much going forward either 000
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Grav/szobo as a pair in midfield is just troublesome! #LFC 110
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Agreed , but there are still worries with him in a double pivot. He had v sloppy moments v forest. Grav is a big offender right now, and Christ coming on w 20 mins to protect a lead like his decision making couldn’t have been any worse 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Absolute stinker! Trying all sorts of silly nonsense in places he doesn’t need to, at a time he doesn’t need to, in a game state he doesn’t need to. Just so clueless. Said it so many times last year, too many low IQ players in this team. Kerkez, Grav, szobo too many tendencies to put us in bother 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 09/09/2026The kind of deep passer we lack in midfield. How poor and sloppy was Grav when he came on!? 100

Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Love that age chart graph. Once VVD goes, maybe Ali replaced, Macca moves on, and we get GK/RB/CB/CM/RW we have an elite team moving into prime years. V exciting! Again as alluded to, just need luck w injuries. Leoni/ekitike 🤞🏽 Don’t hold much hope for RB given injury regularity. 010
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Excellent, intriguing & exciting article. However Age & potential alone doesn’t get us to winning titles. Paul rightly points to the top level youth talent signed. He prob fails to address how poor frimpong is. I think if the club can show ruthlessness in signing RB/CM/RW next year, we are golden 200
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Ie Jacquet/leoni, kerkez, isak, Ekitike, wirtz, barcola. It’s easy to see we have accumulated top talent that plenty of other clubs were in for. Making them fit is the next part of the journey. And hopefully Iraola helps w that. 010
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 06/09/2026He isak/ekitike one is easy - Nunez/diaz moved on, jota rip, club knew Salah coming to final years. LFC supporters always wanting club to strengthen from position of strength (ie post PL title win). Frimpong the only true Q of the lot. Apply your same Q, what is the point of, to all other signings 210
Reposted by Sean GRoy B ☮️ @rewerbyor.bsky.social · 02/09/2026I recall a time when LFC signed a world class star our fans would be ecstatic & excited to see him play. Now it’s…‘yeah, that’s great but what about right-back cover?’. I love football and Liverpool are in my DNA but sometimes it’s good to have a look at the world and realise how lucky we are. 2272
Reposted by Sean GKloppo @klopposhadow.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Personally I’m happy we’ve not blown millions on players apart from the key player we wanted, we got. I’m sure we’ll do well this season. City and Chelsea are corrupt and ruined the PL with their monopoly games. I’m glad we’re not like them. Be happy, support #LFC #YNWA #COYR 🔴👊🏽 2141
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 01/09/2026Also to your point re city making profit & winning trophies - grealish out on loan to Everton again? They spent 100mill on him. We’ve won league more recently than them. We’ve made profits on plenty players Diaz, wuansah, Kelleher etc. Elliot on loan not ideal. Point is nobody gets it perfect. 000
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 01/09/2026It’s just annoying to hear people say it’s been awful, complain re wingers etc, without acknowledging both the incredible signings made in Jacquet/barcola, & how poor the market is for RWs & RBs (I acknowledge almost anyone better than frimpong). It’s not horrendous as people give Hughes shit for 000
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 01/09/2026Haha Chelsea are certainly not making profits, owners trying to sell up for 50% of share price they invested at. City&chelsea spend extortionate amounts on wages for guys that don’t even make the bench. Haha there you hyperbolating, nowhere have I said I think it’s been a wonderful window but …/1 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Yeah but injured & quoted 80mill?! As I said, reassessing in Jan is wise. Iraola likes wingers to be flexible with sides & now we have 4 decent ones. As another replier said above, LFC do well in not signing the wrong players. Look at city/chelsea sales this year, so many ineffective buys 120
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 31/08/2026But who? This is the thing. What’s the point in buying some guy who’s 5th/6th on the list just for the sake of it, and him not being up to the level . The efforts went into Diomande and he chose real when they came in late. 80mill for minteh is hectic, reassess in Jan is wise. Barcola is huge 110
Reposted by Sean GAlex Shephard @alexshephard.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Liverpool have done well (for the most part) by not bringing in the *wrong* players, which is almost as important as bringing in the right ones. but the counterargument is that this has been in the cards for a long time and the fact that there are zero left-footed attackers in the squad is nuts 121
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Haha see this the thing, nobody can provide names for a RW worthy of signing. But Happy to complain one isn’t signed. Work went into Diomande early window, sarr/minteh would have been down a list. They rightly don’t wanna sign for crazy fees or for the sake of signing. Better to Wait on top quality 200
Reposted by Sean GKyle Carr @kylecarr.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Liverpool saw Savio got for 80 mil and Minteh valued at 80 mil and said ain’t no way Gakpo is in that value bracket. Might be the only time Hughes did his job well in the last month 011
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Ok who is the RW available on the market that is top tier and moves the needle for us that you think he should have magically signed?! 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 31/08/2026It’s not the lack of links that’s the issue, it’s the lack of top tier quality available on the RW market. Everyone complains re minteh/sarr links, ok who else is there? Work was put in for Diomande & he chose real. People both have unrealistic expectations & want signings for the sake of signings 100
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 31/08/2026W palace/brighton wanting ~80mill, selling gakpo for just 85 (by comparison) would’ve been a stupid move. Yes his wages are high, but he’s experienced. He’ll be rotated at RW. Reassess in Jan for minteh. Rayan release clause of 100m next summer looks cheap again in context sarr/minteh quoted 80. 000
Sean G @86seang.bsky.social · 30/08/2026All this + wider context of what city/chelsea are doing. People talk of Chelsea continuously rebuilding, admiring money spent on savio, Gonzalez, reinjders, marmoush etc etc, but look at them now. Chelsea buy up all around them & look where they finish & how many get sold on. 000
