I've finally gotten around to playing the other Meat Boy games and... There sure is a lot to say about them. I wanna make a video on it really badly so I'll keep it short here but I wasn't a fan of Forever and 3D is alright (still playing through that one though)... Which seems to be the common take

Still on the nostalgia train, the Happy Wheels Steam release got me to take a look again and I still think that it's peak is very underappreciated. There's a lot of super creative and interesting maps in that game but the slop floats to the top, that's a common theme in games like this (Mario Maker)

I'm also kinda back on TF2 which is always inevitable, that said the cycle is starting earlier than usual this time around because I usually pop in closer to the end of the year but I started in August this time around. Still the same old game, which is a great sign when we're talking TF2.

Got into Megabonk for real for the first time when I bought my Legion Go because it felt like the perfect game for it and yeah, this is a lot of fun. Been playing it on my desktop too and it's a great little time killer with some good progression. Won a couple of runs and got some fun unlocks too!

Slowly getting back into Deadlock with a friend and... Man, MOBAs are a weird genre. I enjoy the game as I have others in the genre, Deadlock more so because it's more similar to games I'm used to, but reading game states and figuring out who's winning is still super difficult. Overall positive tho

Got back into Hearthstone and that's been fun, meta is in a good place and I've reached my highest rank ever last season (Plat 5 which isn't impressive really, just a sign that I've been playing more). It's in a good place for real which isn't common. Next expansion looks fun too.

the regular nobara install seems to be behaving well at this point and while it seems quite inconvenient because of the form factor, i do quite like it. i mostly use this laptop for work or just to fill some idle time so defaulting to a normal DE is good, and big picture is 2 button presses away

cachyOS-handheld wasn't recognizing the controllers and didn't like wi-fi, and nobara-handheld was just a complete fucking mess? it didn't let me make a user, didn't install a bootloader, steam wasn't working at all, i plugged it into power and it acted like i plugged it to a second display?????????

replacing this 14 year old toshiba laptop is proving to a be a bit difficult somehow but i think i nailed it down picked up a used legion go and was STRUGGLING with getting a steamOS-like distro on it so i ended up just installing the normal KDE version of nobara

Loved the form factor and over all experience but I think I'm moving away from Surface devices for the foreseeable future. I see the vision though, and I'd be down to try more tablet-like laptops in the future. Damn shame that most things like that are ARM-based now.

If the problems I were experiencing were minor inconveniences I'd honestly consider keeping the device anyways and dealing with them, but this was advertised as 100% functional and the touchscreen does not live up to that claim. Dead zones and ghost touches are simply impossible to ignore

It's pretty damn clear to me that I just got unlucky with the specific device that was sent to me. My issue is hard to explain, especially through text and photos only (eBay doesn't let you send videos in refund requests :)) but they accepted it without any further questions which is nice.
