in better PC news i did reach the funny not found number of days (also i wiped the windows drive, this is now a purely linux-only PC)

snippet of a Linux terminal running fastfetch, with the relevant info being the "OS Age" field, which reads "404 days"

it's crazy to me that a lot of marginalized people only want to end THEIR marginalization instead of ending all of it there are way too many losers that are literally just this picture and they're way too comfortable about it

And there it is. There have been issues and ridiculous complications, but most importantly there have been tons of positives and I seriously cannot recommend the swap enough.

was looking for a tablet that can run linux to replace my old ass laptop and while trying to find out if surfaces are locked down in some way (they mostly arent) i came across the PC of doom and despair

"lspci -k -d ::03xx" does show amdgpu as an available kernel module but that was probably some fuckery I did when I tried to get it running, I think it's actually just impossible for it to actually load the drivers anyways.

I didn't notice instantly but look, that's 1f1f28 on the left, and 24242c on the right. Went and checked and sure enough, background color for my terminal didn't change and 24242c is nowhere to be found. I have no idea what caused this.

3 months ago I tried to get AffinityOnLinux on my 14 year old laptop but all I could do was open the app, nothing past that. Not having Vulkan made it impossible. The next kernel versions are adding Vulkan support to older AMD GPUs, including the one on my laptop. This OS is incredible.

Red Vox - Retcon That's AOTY sorted! In all seriousness, this has been a LONG time coming, and it was worth the wait! Only bad part is that we've heard a good bit of this album already over the past 3 years, but those songs still sound good and the new stuff is really nice too.

100

Future🇵🇹🤝🇵🇸 @7thfuture.bsky.social · 13/01/2026

that's 180 days! its been a really interesting 6 months, there's been issues, complications and annoyances, but most importantly the upsides are worth anything I have to deal with. endeavourOS is really nice IMO, and the fact that something arch-based is this easy is great :)

First time doing this on bsky. I have a tradition of posting a bit of text about each passing year, wanted to start doing that here too. Here's to 2025, and 2026. Happy new year.

So uh, what a year right? It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t do the whole “man, I always say it was a weird one!” thing at the start of one of these, and yeah, in many ways it’s true, but when I stop and think about it, this one was different.

A lot of my situation has stayed the same, struggling to get a career going and all that, but that’s almost to be expected at this point. It’s not like I tried hard to change that, I was too busy helping my parents out and that’s been sort of essential to keep everything running smoothly. In any case, had I made a big effort to that end, I’d just be in the same place because the job market is hell, so it is what it is.

Everywhere else though? Things have changed, mostly for the better. I converted that 2nd guitar I mentioned last year into a totally different instrument (I really wanna show the thing off, I’ll think of a way to do so eventually) which was a really fun project that brought even more interest to the whole music thing I do from time to time. On the tech side of things, I finally put my money where my mouth is and dumped Windows in favor of Linux, and I’ve never loved using my computer this much before. I plan on talking about it in depth soon-ish (let’s see how well THAT ages…), but long story short: I couldn’t be happier with the change. I was also more hands-on with my hobbies, I’ve done a good bit of the customization I have set up on Linux myself, and I already mentioned what I did to my 2nd guitar, but I recently also properly grounded my main guitar and changed one of its pickups, which has been great too. Getting more involved with the technical aspect of a hobby is one of my favourite parts, and I’m glad I got to do it with my main two.

The more attentive ones among you (or rather, the ones that know me better) might think all of this is odd. I like doing multiple things, I always have, but at times it’d look more like I liked the CONCEPT of doing multiple things and never actually starting/doing anything m…

manchester united are a horrible football club and i guess we've known this for a while, but getting hit with the pep "they have a great manager" gimmick by the manager of a 4th tier club is unironically grounds for liquidation

And that's a full month! Really happy with the change so far, I've had some issues pop up, but far easier to identify and fix I've seen no reason to go back, this has been wonderful, everything is so much faster and just more functional, with less crashing and better performance

happy 5 year anniversary to Realign! this was the 1st red vox album released after i started listening to them, and it's my personal choice for when I want to listen to a full RV album front to back, something about it makes all the pieces fit perfectly, even if they sonically don't

Future🇵🇹🤝🇵🇸 @7thfuture.bsky.social · 23/06/2025

i have red vox predictions but i dont feel like making a long ass thread or a reddit post so here's what i'm theorizing we'll see for their next album just in case i somehow guessed it right

CONFIRMED:
-remember
-crony
-A/V
-the new flesh
-long ago
LIKELY (played in recent concerts a lot):
-cheer up
-dopamine
-throw away
POSSIBLE (played in concerts less, but still there, new tracks that appeared in more recent concerts):
- over a night (played recently for the first time in white eagle hall)
- 2/3 currently unknown songs (i doubt they've shown everything in the album)

School Of Death honestly i don't even remember how i found this one, it can only be described as batshit insane, and if i'm being honest, too much for me at some points, but when i'm in the mood to challenge that type of thought, this is a go-to

100

Future🇵🇹🤝🇵🇸 @7thfuture.bsky.social · 21/04/2025

GNX honestly the only reason this isn't my 2024 AOTY is because I didn't want kendrick to steal it with a late album (first vinyl i ever bought tho) masterful in many ways, lots of catchy moments, hype, and incredible depth, what else do you expect from this guy?
