Every movie, song, and book that you love was made without the technology that people who don’t make art are now insisting is necessary for making art.

A reminder for those at the back.

A redraw of the i nice panel from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, where Batman snaps a rifle in two over his knee.

He says "THIS is the weaponnof the enemy. We do not NEED it. We will not USE it."

I've replace the rifle with a plank of wood labelled "AI Slop"

We created gyms because modern day work no
longer required physical activity. Without exercise,
our muscles atrophy.
I predict we'll need gyms for our brains too, once Al
starts doing our knowledge work.

Something AI is responsible for that doesn't get enough talk: How, when it scrapes a website to illegally steal everything on it, it uses up a ton of its bandwidth allotment, crashing it or racking up massive fees for site owners.

"I steal from artistic creators to get around their rights. They would not work for me for at a severe discount or free, so if I can convince myself that I'm not stealing, I can convince others of that too. I'm a genius. No one would pay attention to me otherwise." That is what I hear every time.
