My contribution to an old fancomic; Chapter 4 of "Fire And Iron". Set in early IDW, specifically after Optimus is dropped off on Earth at the end of 'Infiltration', starring his ship's crew. Written by @adtcomics.bsky.social. Read the Alt txt for my attempts to contextualise.

PREVIOUSLY: After dropping off Optimus with Prowl's infiltration unit, his chauffeurs Crosshairs, Backstreet, and Dogfight follow a Cybertronian S.O.S. to England, only to discover escape pods in a cave, open, and the Firecons unleashed! Attempting to avoid incineration, Backstreet dives into a pod and Sparkstalker and Cindersaur give it their full fury.
NOW: The escape pod has melted and buckled and fused with Backstreet as the pair of Firecons gloat before deciding to go help Flamefeather with the other Autobots.

At the mouth of the cave, Flamefeather hits the floor unconscious. Dogfight and Crosshairs are battered but victorious, and issue a warning to Sparkstalker and Cindersaur to surrender or face a worse fate. Cindersaur steps aside and reveals what they did to Backstreet, goading the Autobots into rash action. However, as the Autobots rush in, the fire in the Firecon's mouths abruptly extinguishes and the pair freeze. The two Autobots realise that, luckily, the Firecons had burned through their entire remaining fuel reserves.

At that moment Prowl and Ratchet arrive, having earlier heard Crosshair's call for backup. They rush evac, loading the Backstreet pod and Firecons onto their ship while Prowl destroys the two remaining pods to prevent local human life discovering their technology.
Later, mysterious agents in containment suits search the cave for leftovers, with one of them making an overlooked discovery.

There was a sale so we ended up with some nice steak for dinner. Husband told me how the kid wanted her steak… “burn it”. I needed to confirm with the kid… Me: “Hey. So… *pointing at steak* fuck your shit up?” Kid: “What? Oh. Yes. Me: “… Would you like ketchup with it too?” Kid: “F**k you. 😂”

People aren’t faking their disabilities, they’re faking being well. We know society hates us. We know we will be judged for using assistive devices. Many of us take years to get the courage to lean in to accommodations. Stop judging. Help us build a more inclusive world.

My take on Yellow Splendid Convoy!! She turns into a pumper fire truck and has a Big Arm that has a water cannon built into it. I wanted to sort of pull from how her special artifact in the Primal Vanguard is a Big Hand while keeping her a regular Autobot. I think she's quite handsome and dashing.

Revisiting an essay I wrote in 2022 for The TFUK Guide for a tribute I’ve been writing to Peter Cullen, and the reason certain lines have stuck with me for 40 years from the Movie are entirely because of him.

The text from the essay reads: Sometime in the summer of 1986, my best friend told me that “they”
were making a Transformers movie. My heart burst with excitement
at the news. We were both into Transformers. I mean, really into
Transformers. For the whole of the autumn school term, it (and “Target:
2006”) was our main topic of conversation, and we discussed whatever
snippets of rumours we’d seen or read about.
We’d separately asked our parents if we could see the Movie over the
Christmas holiday. Dates and places were quickly negotiated. Promised .
There was no going back. The school term ended, and we knew that
when we saw each other again in January, we’d have both seen The
Transformers: The Movie, and it would be our badge of honour, a sign of
our commitment to our favourite robots in disguise.
At around 6 pm on the 27th of December, 1986, at the Majestic Cinema
in King’s Lynn, I sat down in the middle of the cinema row, flanked by my
dad and my step-brother and waited for the film to start, unable to contain
myself. For the following 90 minutes, I was bewitched by the explosive
imagery that charged across the massive screen, deafened by the
booming sound effects and soundtrack, and positively thunderstruck by
the sheer spectacle of it all.
I kept quiet during the car ride home. I was equal parts devastated by
the deaths of Optimus Prime and the Autobots and exhilarated by the
spectacular introductions of Galvatron and Rodimus Prime. Already I was
excited about seeing how the new Autobots’ leader might be introduced
in the comic.
I tried to process as much of what I’d seen and heard as I could. It wasn’t
like flipping back through a comic or rewinding a video to re-digest any
missed details. Seeing the Movie in the cinema was a one-time treat and
those 90 minutes had been an unforgiving barrage against the senses.
Much of the film’s dialogue had already escaped me. There were just
three lines from the Movie (all from Optimus Prime) that I could still recall.
“One…

“Be Strong enough to be gentle.” Peter Cullen tells the story of how his brother inspired the voice he would use to play Optimus Prime. It’s a simple yet poignant quote that sums up why Optimus and Peter are so beloved. Til All Are One. 💔

Arco Rogun Aircraft Carrier! Unlike other Roguns there’s no evidence that this Big Boat Boy was also released in Gobots or Robo Machine packaging though it’s hard to be 100% as boxed examples are SO rare. I put it with Gobots anyway. It should have accessories but they are even rarer than the box!

Arco Rogun Aircraft Carrier side by side with Destroyer. The two blue and grey boats make a nice fleet!

Aircraft Carrier is HUGE and can be used as a carrier for standard-sized Gobots aircraft (eg Skyjack). If it wasn’t released in Gobots / Robo Machine they missed a trick as it works well with them!

AC is VAST, dwarfing the already large Destroyer. The shiny sticker on the crotch has caught the reflection of my fingers in a way that looks positively indecent

The two Skyjacks run for their lives as Aurcraft Carrier demonstrates just how big it is in robot mode
