Apparently this counts as targeted harassment in Finland, which Finnish Doctor's Association condemned and reached out to HKI Pride about (also some tiny cardboard signs which can be read in bad faith, and one that wasn't even tied to this protest) Not really beating the authoritarian claims.

In 2011 a doctor at a Finnish trans clinic looked at patient records and saw a pattern of not being taken seriously, misdiagnosed and subject to additional mental stress. In 2026 Finnish researchers did not review the contents of records or note any such limitations when making their conclusions.

I see it. Kids and trans adults in Nordic countries also often must go out of the country to access actual trans healthcare. Not many people are aware of just how bad it is. The people who are in charge hide from scrutiny via the language barrier. Reporting is often in their native tongue.

Before visiting Australia last month, Kaltiala gave an interview on her opposition to puberty blockers, the banning of which Joyce has spoken of as valuable as the first step in the attack on trans rights. Reportedly the visit was empowerong to the local anti-trans movement.

That’s what Finland wants people outside to believe. Of course, Finland is leagues better than the US in terms of education, social services (which do not exist in any meaningful way here), among many things. My Finnish teacher (who lives here) half-jokingly calls the US a 3rd world country.

Really hate to be pedantic, since it’s very reasonable mistake (I do it frequently with other words), but it’s spelled con*s*ervative. I remember in 1st grade we were taught “c” can mimic a “k” or a “s” sound, and to just be aware of that. I’m glad Finnish is far more logical of a language
