Its a massive policy failure that the only way to hold bad drivers accountable is to wait for them to crash and have them stop driving bc of economic repercussions like insurance rates and car loans. @govpritzker.illinois.gov @mayorofchicago.bsky.social

I always wonder how many of the sirens you hear echoing through the city streets are going to car crashes. Probably a lot.

Intersections are the most dangerous places for any road user so practice caution there. Try to cross busy ones at a traffic light or stop signs. There will be scary moments

Im not familiar with Albany Park but id bet they'd have an easy time doing local errands there. If theyre an experienced driver id say biking would feel like a natural fit for a new rider. Take it slow at first, plan routes before leaving on Sts parallel to busy Rds to experience riding next to cars

Cheaper housing and faster transit. Going to require tons of money in transit capital projects both to improve the old, but also build new rapid transit corridors. Lots of good signs/things happening but big challenges ahead. Western BRT would be a good first step imo

exactly, housing a walkable neighborhoods with fast(BRT+L+Metra) transit would be an extremely good investment in a lot of Chicago. Feel like we're heading in that direction but still have hurdles to overcome. There is hope for better at least

DoorDash spent $1.4M trying to stop Zohran Mamdani from becoming mayor. This week's historic $131.5M enforcement action against DoorDash for underpaying NYC delivery workers shows why. Yet another reminder that the only thing that can beat organized money is organized people.

How much economic growth is being hampered by DLSD? If we're going to expand housing and transit in the suburbs don't we want people to have easy access to the lakefront? That road is a nightmare to cross on foot and to just be around in general. People could start new businesses if it was better

I dont understand this. Brodway st is extremely pedestrianizable and Lawson would never stick his neck out to fight for its pedestrianization. We barely got him to do Wellington Greenway, a street that could also be pedestrianized at points. He's also a protégé of Tunny. This is a bad endorsement.

Booting 700,000 off medicaid, 200,000 off ACA, torturing poor people contributing to society in camps, starving refugees to death overseas by cutting USAID, Gaza & West Bank. can we take all of Elons money and use it for something nice? Where the f*ck is the accountability?

@gavinnewsom.bsky.social this sounds like a road made by a generation of engineers who looked at people unable to afford a car as deserving to be violently killed by them. How many of your streets are built to kill 'others' who dont drive? This is a systemic issue that only legislature can solve

@govpritzker.illinois.gov the traffic models, the thing that does all the transpo thinking for the civil engineers, used for DLSD won't accept reducing lanes on DLSD. Sometimes you need to break from the models bc their data is incomplete. The people designing this important project dont know how.

Alex @3eeutiful.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
The main problem with DLSD planning happening behind closed doors is that the people designing it dont have the required knowledge to solve the problem. Its systemic incompetence from a broken higher education system that could also be classified as a giant lie and grift. @govpritzker.illinois.gov

A) since IDOT nor CDOT have done a project of this scale before theyre going to require outside help. B) better land use(a material gain for ppl who live in and visit Chicago)is the main selling point of a boulevard. The main selling point IDOT offered for RDD was speeding up commutes by 5minutes

A recent survey found that 92% of U.S. adults have delayed or avoided medical care due to high costs. Meanwhile, a new study from Yale estimates that Medicare for All would save over 114,000 lives and $1 trillion a year. If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have universal healthcare.

@chicagodsa.bsky.social so we have an incompetent "socialist mayor" with corrupt bedfellows in city council who'd rather serve rich people with electric cars then people who take the bus. Is Johnson really the best "socialist" Chicago has to offer? Who am I supposed to feel is in it for the people?
