Today (for Cat) I sang his nickname (Ki-ki Butthole) to the tune of Handel's Hallelujah and yes, also, I am a very serious scientist. Apologies to my family. Except Ki-ki Butthole, of course.

A grey/mocchiatto tabby cat with a bright white chin lying flopped upside down on hia head showing his bright teefs, his legs sprawled everywhere across his humans' bedding, including a soft teal comforter and pastel rainbow fuzzy blanket.

Kittyboo made it past the child locks into the toilet paper cabinet. Doesn't he look pleased?

This is such a beuatiful book. If you like dystopian/climate fiction/science fiction with a poetic bent and can handle stories of pandemic and death and grief (with a lovely helping of hope and connection), this delivers.

All her life she had looked into dark; but this was a vaster darkness, this night on the ocean. There was no end to it. There was no roof. It went out beyond the stars.

Further, there is nothing AI can do for me. Nothing I *want* it to do for me. Even if it wasn't an inept plagiarism machine, I like writing, editing, rewriting, planning, researching, all of it. I want to do all of it. I want humans to handle the stuff beyond my capacity.

At this point, solving climate change is cheaper than not solving it -- not only on some grand 50 year time horizon, but tomorrow, today, immediately. Soving climate change *is* affordability. Maybe Dems should tell voters about that.

Solar and wind now dominate global electricity generation. Worldwide, solar and wind power will each surpass nuclear in 2026. This surge has halted fossil fuel power generation rise, with renewables overtaking coal, supported by battery storage providing system flexibility at scale.

Cat escaped the back porch again last night by sneaking through the top of a screen, but when I went to find him, he was standing outside the porch on his hind legs, paws on railings, trying to figure out how to get back in before being caught. Picked him right up. Not sure he is very good at this.
