The Brave & the Bold was my main Batman comic growing up. Recently read the DC Finest Team-Ups: The Impossible Escape and it was a wonderful blast from the past.

I'm a tried & true O'Neil/Adams guy but Aparo's Batman is just incredible. I miss Bats being more of a street-level detective wearing a regular costume instead of a billion-dollar suit of armor-wearing dimension/world hopper.

I cut my comics teeth on their Brave and Bold. Haney's absolute disregard for continuity both infuriated and thrilled me. His imagination took him where it took him. What had gone before didn't matter. Aparo's art was always brilliant.
