Last night NDP voters saved Canada from the surging hard right, but had to sacrifice our own party in the process. Today the battle begins for a system where we don't have to do that any more. We badly need a party that can save Canada from the oligarchs who brought us all to the brink.

the part that pissed me off is when you ran on a promise that Vancouver Centre was a race between you and Hedy Fry. what foundation did you form that belief upon? it very clearly turned out to be not that. thank goodness you didn't split the vote to the degree Conservative Elaine Allan won.

This voting splitting sucks. We need instant runoff voting in Canada.

Electoral reform needs to be in the discussion; unfortunately with the BQ supporting the LPC minority government, that doesn’t seem to be in the cards.

You can tweak the system; you can't replace it. You're wasting energy on a fruitless project while you could be much more creative and build or improve something that's needed today. Tearing down and re-building in your own image is very Trump-like.

Disingenuous narrative. Avi, if you're considering a run to lead NDP, please consider how this will work against you. We're not dumb out here. We are, however, almost out of faith that the NDP can rise from the ashes.

I don’t like Singh but I appreciate the point here and might easily vote NDP in a ranked choice election with a less divisive leader. FPTP is pernicious and destabilizing. My long-shot hope is that NDP would join a coalition in exchange for ranked choice voting.

Honestly, I think we need to credit Jagmeet Singh for putting the good of the country ahead of his own political interests. As much as I would love a more Green/NDP vote, I believe a CPC win would have been disastrous. Trump said the quiet part aloud yesterday and it was a fearful thing.
