We need to stop accepting views expressed on Twitter as real opinions. The sooner everyone assumes that the median post on that website is done in bad faith and principally designed to chase clout, the sooner we stop letting these fake controversies take up all the oxygen in the room.

These posts get views and that's what makes money. As long as money is what keeps news afloat, that's what will happen. It's low effort, high reward trawling and requires no investigation or expertise to report on. It's just clickbait and rageslop. It's been around since the start of the internet.

“Blue checkmark behavior” is an easy way to dig at someone who pays for Twitter BUT It’s also someone who is trying to monetize their interactions with you. There can be no expectation of honesty from someone in that position.

Unfortunately, there was nothing fake about the pedo stuff.😮‍💨 It got so bad that Capcom had to block many of those people and get many reddit accounts taken down. That got so bad that those pedos went all out to harass and threaten a Youtuber known as Sphere Hunter because of her ties with Capcom.
