I think the most interesting (and perhaps scariest) thing about AI now is that you can never be sure your game, app or other tech project doesn’t use it. Like you may know you didn’t… but did you check all your third party resources and dependencies? Would you even be able to check them all?

While it may be a while, one day I do plan to relaunch the Wario Land 4 ROM Hack Vault, and maybe expand it to mods of other games in the series. The fact you couldn’t submit mods via a form has been a nightmare for years, as was a reliance on Discord. So, I want to fix both those things.

Interested to see where this goes. Personally, I’m thinking we need smaller scale stories, more varied companions, less of a focus on nostalgia and a return to mostly standalone, often terrifying stories. In other words, don’t try to make it like the MCU. And don’t bring back Tennant again.

Seeing the confusion about Link being left handed in the Ocarina of Time remake makes me realise how long the wild era has been the default now, and how many see the right handed Link from BotW/TotK as the default. Probably doesn’t help Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess did that too…

This is a really nice analysis of the Ocarina of Time remake’s art style. It’s definitely a lot more deliberate in its setup than fan made Unreal Engine projects or AI games, so it’s clear they’re going for a style inspired by fantasy illustrations rather than just maximum detail.
