My coworker died and we all have a screenshot showing her PC idle time from when she died to when they logged her off. It was 46h. She was in a remote call center still appearing to assign calls, while deceased, up until they signed her off. New human was in place 27h after. Like it never happened.

There is no law in any state that says you have to give someone time off to attend the funeral of an immediate family member, legally in every single state you can make someone work through the funeral of their family.

that Amazon story hit me because I have worked at a place where someone was led out on a stretcher and they wouldn't answer any questions or let us stop taking calls for a moment as they were carried out, and also a coworker was killed running back in from lunch and they didn't tell us
