for two months, I've been flying drones over Flock cameras to situation them in space and geography; I even got my commercial drone license in order to do it. I'd like to share this project with you all: it's called Records Of Enemy Surveillance: recordsofenemysurveillance.com

I've heard thousands of climate denial arguments over the last few decades. But do you know they all fall into one of 5 categories? 1. It's not real 2. It's not us 3. It's not bad 4. We can't fix it 5. You can't trust the info/experts Source: www.nature.com/articles/s41...

The gold standard is to stop burning fossil fuels. CCS and DAC are hopium technologies.

Here is what happens to buildings during heat waves and power outages: They can be death traps. theconversation.com/heat-waves-c...
theconversation.com
Heat waves can leave homes dangerously hot – even for young, healthy adults
Heat waves can be dangerous, and the conditions indoors can be worse than outdoors. A study of all the single-family homes in Austin, Texas, shows why.

According to DW, the US and Europe have "similar climates" I guess we have no editors anymore and we can just make up stuff. Why Germans don't have air conditioning share.google/SvUsuKXcj9iw...

Why Germans don't have air conditioning
Unlike the US or parts of Asia, many homes in Germany and northern Europe aren't equipped to deal with extreme heat. But as the world gets hotter, trends are changing.

In light of Europe's heatwave, our piece in The Conversation: when AC fails or was never installed, even healthy young adults face survivability risk indoors, not only the elderly. Bldg codes should require new homes to keep occupants alive through 72 hours of extreme heat bsky.app/profile/us.t...

Heat pumps vs AC: Which is the best way to stay cool during heatwaves?
Europe consumes huge amounts of electricity and generates tonnes of CO2 through cooling. Could heat pumps save us during the next heatwave?

Hello friends, I'm looking to talk with an expert in the health impacts of energy technologies. Someone with expertise in spatially-resolved estimation of disease and mortality impacts, mainly from burning fossil fuels, but also from clean(er) energy supply chains. Would love suggestions.

This is very cool. As someone who works on the demand side of things, I am trying to understand how much less supply infrastructure we'd need if demand side flexibility is paramount? Ex: everyone has V2H capable cars/homes/businesses, how much less dunkelflaute infrastructure could we afford?

Here is the CO2 emission intensity of electricity in Texas and California, in grams of CO2 per kWh generated. Texas electricity in 2024 was dirtier than California electricity in 1990. Texas electricity in 2024 was, on average, no better than a grid run entirely on natural gas combined cycle plants.
Graph of the electricity CO2 intensity vs. time, in grams per kWh, in California and Texas from 1990 to 2024. Texas CO2 intensity decreases gradually from 1990 to 2024. The decrease accelerates slightly around 2015. In 2024, Texas electricity was about as dirty as a grid powered entirely from natural gas combined cycle (about 385 g/kWh).

For sure, it just doesn't do anything on decarbonizing the rest, and when the news focus on how TX is leader in this and that on renewables, this is conveniently left out.
020
Zoltan Nagy @zoltannagy.bsky.social · 01/04/2026
And iirc a lot of the newly added renewables is mainly to meet existing increasing load, rather than replacing fossil fuel generation.

For non-nerds who didn't follow Iberian blackout coverage closely, it's hard to convey how completely anti-renewable pundits led reporters - from national media down to self-styled "energy wonk" podcasters - down a totally irrelevant rabbit hole by just yelling "INERTIA" over and over.
