Not sure people understand how bad El Niño already is. In Southern California today, we had an offshore pacific hurricane (not normal) take out homes and beaches. We had temperatures topping 111°F with high humidity. There's a fire in LA. And we are just getting started with El Niño.

Instead of building concrete walls, nature already invented the perfect coastal defense. Mangrove roots form a tangled web that catches crashing waves and breaks them down into gentle currents. They stop erosion, filter our water, and save entire coastal communities from flooding.

Science is clear: Climate change made these heat extremes up to 5x more likely. Hotter droughts dry vegetation into fuel. Forests that once cooled the planet now burn, releasing massive CO₂—worsening the cycle. We've seen this in the Amazon & Congo too.
