DHH a annoncé pendant Rails World 2026 que Hey, produit phare de 37signals, quitte Rails pour du natif généré par LLM et un backend en Rust : son code Ruby ne représente plus que 3% de sa production cette année, contre 30k lignes par an avant. ⬇️ jardo.dev/what-about-rails

I was reflecting on how many random contingencies went into creating the current accelerating AI moment and had Opus 5.5 put together a video, inspired by old science show Connections, to try and point out how a series of initially unrelated ideas led to the moment we are in now.

Do secondary studies in Software Engineering even contribute to the evolution of knowledge anymore, or are they just surface-level summaries that harvest easy citations while increasing the volume of published research?

I was just reading a post by someone who was complaining that AI didn't do a good job of programming out of the box—that you had to tune it to get it to behave. AI is an amplifier, and it amplifies the way _you_ work. If _you_ don't have great coding practices, then it will amplify that. 1/4
