you already know (after some delay) what's up (steam sale rec thread is what's up) as always, i focus primarily on older, obscure, or just plain weirder games, as big name titles don't tend to need the help. with that said, onwards!

an edited version of the box art for the dreamcast survival horror game Blue Stinger. the face in the background has been replaced with a picture of my fursona (a pink kangaroo), and the title now says Spacetwinks Rec Thread. Really creative, intuitive speculative fiction re: a society where everyone's got brain implants and society is networked together on a vast scale, and how news media might look. A little bit retro futuristic (it is from the 90s) but so well done.

Followed up on one of the recs I was writing down from Jo Walton's book. The Fortunate Fall by Cameron Reed is *crazy* good, this has knocked my head clean off and I'm not even through the big climactic reveal. The rollercoaster is clanking to the top of the last hill and I'm ready to yell!

It's not good to see anyone lose a job with the market the way things are, but seeing them axe the franchise team in particular is what lets me know it's really truly over. That's irreplaceable and specific specialist knowledge and if it's gone it means they do not care.

A lot of my friends glance my way for a reaction check when anything happens to Halo. For those friends: If they fired Easterling, I am pretty sure they fired everyone who was in charge of the lore. It's about as bad as it could possibly be for someone that cares about Halo's story the way I do.
