USB-C is the best technology in so long. I bring ONE type of adaptor on business trips now (to charge my computer, my phone, my tablet, my earbuds, my watch, my headphones). I'm sitting in a meeting right now using my Mac and am borrowing the cord from a ThinkPad user. Standards win.

Picked up a CD player a couple weeks ago from a flea market with a broken volume knob that otherwise works. Currently in the process of replacing it

A CD player that's had the top part of the inside removed, the volume control assembly has been. Taken apart, on the left stop a small container is part of the assembly showing the tiny piece of plastic remaining of the original knob, part of th assembly and a fancy plastic crystal button.

The idea of a "tech industry" has always relied on "computer" being a special kind of medium, akin to alchemy. And if tech demands to be king, AI hype has now elevated LLMs to a king of kings. But the solipsism has hit a dead end. The only way forward is to recognize that computers are not special.
