Everyone was so damn kind. Refreshing and also like, wtf, why can’t that be our all-the-time experience?

I hate doing the "a rollback of trans rights is the gateway for a rollback of women's rights" thing because trans rights are human rights in and of themselves, whatever the impact on cis women. But goddamn I wish more cis women had a sense of history and self preservation.

A Super Puma assigned to the Price Valley Helitack #IdahoFire crashed while supporting the Dome Fire in Yosemite NP. Reports are that only the two crew were onboard, both died. No Price Valley Firefighters involved.

One Old Testament screamer with a megaphone. One airplane towed banner. One small toilet paper USA group. All in all pretty low key.

Rare for us to be in town for Boise pride. But my uncle & his husband are here visiting the 12-year-old. We made it to Boise for the Parade and had a blast. They’re from East TN / ATL and kept commenting and how great the event was and were surprised how big it was. Great showing Boise 🏳️‍🌈

No details, but early reports are spreading about an incident on the Dome Fire in Yosemite NP. Two crew fatalities are reported by a company operating a helicopter on the fire. 😞 One of the more brutal fire seasons I can recall, and it just keeps getting worse.

I mean, they’ve been trying

1) why…… 2) why do we have a list for Idaho’s state gun without any guns that have history in Idaho? I’d argue for the 44 Magnum given the inventor Elmer Keith lived in Salmon. 3) no seriously, this is dumb. 4) I’d vote for potato gun 5) why……………….

"We care about every child who dies from measles. THEY GET HEADLINES." That's the ONLY reason they (pretend to) care.

I am seriously so pissed right now. The next 2 weeks in idaho the LDS church is reading a letter across the pulpit telling folks to vote no on Prop 1 in idaho. Which overturns our draconian abortion restrictions thatve led to 37% loss in idaho OBGYNs. The hubris of men.

Heaven and Hell. What a beautiful day for a drive up to Heaven’s Gate Overlook in the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. Great views of four states and the Seven Devils Range. #IdahoEscape

I gotta say. In my 3 decades in/around Wildland Fire, this is the most aggressively stupid thing I've ever seen. To me, this is arson-level stupidity.

I love the @prusa3d.com Haribo tradition But I HATE gummy bears Every time I get a Prusa printer or upgrade kit & finish a major build milestone, my wife gets the Haribo Anti-climactic for me, but since my first, she's never said no to any Prusa purchase 🤷 — Josef is brilliant :) #3dprint #prusa

I'm not talking about 'the opposition'; I'm talking about normal people, people like me, my wife, & friends pre-deconstruction. The right uses shit like this as counter-evidence, and it works. I don't give a fuck what the opposition thinks; I care about conversations with people who are reachable.

Creating something that's obviously fake/satire, etc is one thing. Spreading stuff like this and claiming it's real, that's a whole different thing--a thing that does a huge disservice to truth.

020

Ok, so what do we gain by passing fake stuff off as real? We have mountains of real evidence; we don't need to make up fake shit. Every time we do, we give them ammunition to use to devalue the real stuff.

280

On the one hand, I agree. On the other hand, it devalues real evidence when people are so used to seeing fake stuff passed off as legitimate. 100% the type of thing conservatives I know will point at when presented with real images as a way to discount them.

3120

Wasn’t this debunked as down rezzed AI? Is there a legit source vetting this?

Only satellite detected heat on #IdahoFire I've seen in proper timber in the last 7 days : - Buckhorn fire, new fire from the 10th, 150 acres. pocket of north facing timber surrounded by grass - Double Springs fire. Interior burning in dense timber within the perimeter. No growth in 30+ days

Bee breath frost around the hive vent hole. I mean really. #bees #bugsky #IdahoEscape

upper corner of a beehive with frost on top. Notable is the frost ringing the ventilation hole where inside air rises out to prevent overheating, dog lolling down the road in background, barbed wire fence running top left to top center

So yeah. Many of my earliest memories (aged 5-7ish?) are while living in what was known as the most racist city in the US, dating back to 1912. The stories I could write about that apartment complex… We left as we could afford to.

We lived in lower income apartments on the main drag on the north edge of town. Looking back it’s insane to me to realize that’s the only place in the South I lived where I didn’t have any black friends. There literally weren’t any in the “all white” town. (It’s <5% black now w/ 270k population)
