A celebration of life for @zane.bsky.social.
A flyer that shows an extremely handsome man sitting at a desk in a modern office. He has turned away from the desk to face the photographer and wears a collared shirt and a brown sweater. He holds a coffee mug in his left hand and rests his right arm casually on the desk, as he smiles at the photographer.
The flyer reads:

Probably The city proposed doing urban renewal in the town center in 2021, but the voters rejected it in an advisory vote and the council did not move forward with the idea. There was a recent letter to the editor discussing the proponent's view
The Wilsonville Right to Vote on Urban Renewal Measure #3-632 will be on the primary ballot in May. It asks if Wilsonville voters should have the right to decide on urban renewal funding for projects proposed by the City Council.
Urban renewal projects can potentially cost hundreds of millions of dollars and determine the character of Wilsonville for decades to come.
Citizens should have a seat at the table and the right to a binding vote. I have attended numerous Wilsonville City Council public meetings where "expert" consultants in urban systems have testified in depth about issues such as stormwater infrastructure, traffic impacts, economics, mass transit, emergency funds, etc. These consultants cost thousands of dollars.
Even with the strict three-minute speaking time limit before the council, citizens often present ideas that are far better and less expensive than those of the routinely hired consultants. Polls and charts produced by consultants are often slanted to enforce their opinion.Even with the strict three-minute speaking time limit before the council, citizens often present ideas that are far better and less expensive than those of the routinely hired consultants. When citizens give in put at council meetings, they are politely heard. How-ever, most of the city councilors give little weight to citizen input even when well qualified and experienced people give testimony.
Should impactful decisions be made only by consultants and select leaders? Or, do we trust the voters? It is the voters who will have to live with the consequences of these decisions. The consultants do not.
Wilsonville citizens need to vote YES on

Read another article claiming Portland has "high housing costs." Sure prices could be lower, but the claim is just out of date. It was true in 2017, when PDX wages were 3% higher than the US but rents were 9% higher. As of late 2025, PDX wages are 8% above national & rents are 10% below national.
