Here is my programming setup. Today I'm working on a video digital processor for my custom Z80 computer. I'm using an RP2350. It will be similar to the master systems VDP but with more capabilities, such as scaling and rotation.

The PI will act as a Video Display Processor like what you'd find in the Master System. It might also feed sound to a sound chip. A Z80 can't update a screen fast enough without custom video circuitry. So the PI is my compromise. Anyhow that's it for now.

That's the same here, if you look at my board, I'm using two different thickness wires both are 22 gage, but I like the thicker ones better. They were some off brand from Amazon. Being someone who builds control panels for a living I want more wire like that and there is a category for that.

I got the ROM decoders wired up (top left) The ram and rom for both CPUs. I still have a few things to wire up for the second CPU and then test it. The first CPU works, it can execute code in the ROM. I made it execute a familiar instruction to trigger certain lights to blink.

Working on the CPU1 memory subsystem today. Using a 3-to-8 line decoder for memory selection. The ROM is actually 64K, but only the lower 32K is visible for now. The upper 32K will be added later through bank switching. One step closer to first boot. #Zenadi #Z80 #HomebrewComputer
