Here's an excellent video on the start of my favorite JRPG franchise, analyzing both why parts of it still hold up and why parts of it are kinda rough The GBA version disrespect is insane though 😭

NEW VIDEO!! A few years ago, the Yakuza series rebranded to "Like a Dragon", a change that, especially in recent years, has become a point of criticism for a number of people in the fanbase However, I think the change was actually rad as hell, and I want to talk about it! (link below)

black friday sales have been crazy good this year, i bought my first 2025 game that's not a re-release and some more comics for super cheap. i did get too caught up in auction hype that i bought mario party 6 for like $65 and while it's one of the few entries i like i didn't want it like that lol

i've never felt more disconnected to modern gaming than i do now. the only new game i bought this year was the graces remaster on sale but i only have interest in shinobi and expedition 33. i truly feel like the industry's changed for the worse. at least i have time to catch up on retro titles

some of the comics i ordered came in today, and i now own every volume of archie sonic archives, and the knuckles archives! still a lot of work to get a full collection, but i used to get every sonic archives volume as it released when i was a kid so it's surreal to have them all now

Sonic's characterization in the 00s is the elephant in the room for me. I get that the inspirational force of nature depiction is meaningful to fans; I never really found it interesting. A Sonic with flaws having nuanced relationships with characters with both sides affecting each other? Gimme that.
