DragonGuy @gamerrdude.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I feel like the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy is a ripe magnet for bad takes The purists of the original game can't see past the "fan fiction" to see that this project is one of the few remakes that try to actually breathe new life into the classic they're re-creating

Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. One of the first games where I wanted to know what was going on in the story; the characters were that compelling, and the plot of a globe-trotting adventure just spoke to me Top that off with a platforming sandbox that made me a lifelong fan of that gameplay style

Had to shelve two more games because I just don't see myself playing them anytime soon and I want to play other games 😭

DragonGuy @gamerrdude.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Oh yeah the Nintendo Direct happened It was fine, I got my hopes up for something that didn't happen but at least Metroid and Kirby look good

DragonGuy @gamerrdude.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

That Ocarina of Time remake does NOTHING for me I already played a "modern" version of it a few months back, there's no reason for this to exist ...Ganondorf looks cool doe

DragonGuy @gamerrdude.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

Somewhat maybe relating to this, this time next week I've started a long-term course away from home and my big goal is to network and meet new people However my apathetic brain is making me think it's not going to work and I'm just gonna waste my money going into that thing

100

DragonGuy @gamerrdude.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

Feeling kinda apathetic tonight Not to vent too much or anything but I've seen too many posts online about things I like sucking today and that kind of negativity always gets me down Maybe that's a sign that I should unfollow some accounts but idk

Saw my least favorite way of recommending things today again, the "this thing is a way better thing that you like" in a mocking tone Hate that shit soooooooo much and people use it way too fucking much to gas up things, it actually makes me want to watch/play/read the thing less

Tales of Vesperia showed me that characters and their dynamics are what really matter in games and stories in general This main group sticks with each other through all of the trials and tribulations and the fact that you can play as each of them just enforces that feeling

What the fuck man I only knew her from Kingdom Hearts and A Bug's Life but I knew she was in stuff like Heroes and Until Dawn Gone WAY too soon, she deserved much more from this life based on what I read about her

DragonGuy @gamerrdude.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

FUCK this was hard Not only did my favorite game come out this year, but also so many great games I didn't even consider in all categories I think I also left out Pokémon Platinum out of the list completely but I don't think it would have fit any of the categories here (except maybe gameplay)

Saw Spider-Man Brand New Day in theaters today I was tearing up within the first 10 minutes so it's gotta be doing something right

DragonGuy @gamerrdude.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

Been in a comic mood again lately so I started reading the original Ultimate Spider-Man on impulse It's very interesting five issues in, you can really tell The Spectacular Spider-Man took a lot of inspiration from this, as did the Raimi films

Nearing the end of Zelda Ocarina of Time, probably gonna beat it tomorrow I'll go more into my thoughts later but while the game is some neat shit, I wasn't really wowed by it Like every (good) dungeon and stuff made me feel "huh that was neat" and nothing else beyond that

I started playing Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword yesterday on the Switch 2 and I... really like it so far Like REALLY like it I already know this story inside and out but playing it for myself really hits different Lyn is a really great character too the scenes with her are so good

DragonGuy @gamerrdude.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

BTW the ranking so far is KH2 > BBS > KH1 > DDD Very curious to see where KH3 lands eventually 👀

Things that need to happen in the near future: - AI bubble bursts - The AAA game industry crashes - And now more than ever, don't take the heat off of Sony.

Hmm This video does make some good points about "infinite content" and whatnot but I... just can't agree with the defeatist attitude Jon shows here Should we not fight for a better future for this hobby? Is that just wishful thinking? Will things not get better for the consumers?
