The Shout (1978) - A bizarre little fever dream nightmare of a movie. Alan Bates pushes his way into the lives of John Hurt and Susannah York while he also recants the story to a very young Tim Curry. Great sound design, music and performances. Manic in a good way #31DaysOfHorror

Occured to me that I can collect all of these in a single post, on account of the carousel. Anyway, some postcards from elsewhere:

Definitely not going to do #31DaysofHorror this year but still going to keep the spooky vibes alive as much as possible. Saw Buddy (2026) last night. Very much leaning into Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared territory and that one Twilight Zone ep. Silly fun that sagged a bit in the middle before a cool finish

Did you know that the BBC's 1992 #horror masterpiece, Ghostwatch, has a sequel? The show's writer, Stephen Volk, wrote a story called '31-10', set 10 years after the broadcast, for his book of short stories called Dark Corners, and later as a free PDF on his website web.archive.org/web/20101214...

Finished this yesterday after two months of on and off reading. A great read if also just incredibly depressing too. Lot of first hand accounts of soldiers bemoaning what they are being ordered to do or being completely against it - and yet, still wiping out swathes of people for land. Poignant.
