Promising to backfill Planned Parenthood is good and the right choice. I’m glad Governor Ferguson is making that commitment. Planned Parenthood provides essential care and needs the protection. But we *can* backfill every cut. We just need to raise taxes on the wealthiest to be able to afford it.

Governor Ferguson skeets:

The victims of cuts from Donald Trump and the MAGA Congress are Washingtonians who will lose their health care provider.
Washington will cover the gap caused by the federal attempt to defund Planned
Parenthood if their litigation is not successful.

We can't backfill every cut. However, we must step into this temporary gap to ensure women continue to have access to critical care like breast cancer screenings.
We will continue advancing our values here in Washington, no matter what happens at the federal level.
