It seems that the cause of the recent UK flight disruption is an out-of-order message processing bug. The damage is still being estimated - it's somewhere between tens and hundreds of millions: 2,000 flights, affecting more than 330,000 passengers. Passengers are unlikely to be compensated.

If we are talking about future of #ai I'm in the same camp with Federico Faginn. He made great appearance in this show www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FUF... And that's why I think LeCun's AMI will outdo Anthropic and OpenAI but ultimately will not reach intelligence.

What I see during the hiring process is that EU/UK market doesn't financially reward professional growth after a certain point. IMO it's because most of the businesses still don't know how to make the best use of the digital phenomena. Software is a revolution that still didn't fully catch up.

The biggest motivation for me to make my own business over all the years was my preferred working rhythm: I like to think walking in the park. I like to explore small avenues and corners of various solutions that come to my mind. And implement it only then.

The ongoing stream of software engineering pieces that mention that the future is in writing spec but never bother to define what a specification is or at what abstraction levels it should be is appalling; arguably, tickets are a spec, the code is a spec, and work between both is connecting dots.

I can't express how much happy I'm that #AI takes care of boring, nitpicking stuff. The whole value creation pyramid has moved one level up. And there are technical models that will get an enormous benefit from that. Paper Design is one of them. The same design imported from Claude Design

Here is a bad thing about "evaluation-driven development". It's a good thing until it's not. And at some point every piece of code is not. But if you wrote it, then you can improve, if LLM wrote it, it's "Make no mistakes" ⌨️🐒. #LLM #AICode #VibeCoding #SoftwareEngineering #TechTakes

LLMs are peanuts, this is a real dea lhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRV8fSw6HaE. In most of the current AI conversations it's somehow assumed that computers as we currently have them are here stay for a long while. Biological intelligence on quantum computers is the way to go.

There's a saying on the internet: "A slave dreams not of freedom, but of his own slaves." And that makes sense, because a dependent person doesn't necessarily understand what it means to be independent. It's much easier to think of an inversion of one's own position.

Yes, one can deliver faster with LLM. But the turtle wins the race. The reason is because software development is about gapping the reality/model chasm and by pinpointing the one viable order. Do it wrong and complexity will kill you up.
