A good software designer is one step away from a good organisational designer.

I want to explore the world. I want to glaze at a vast night sky and be amazed by wonder

It seems that the cause of the recent UK flight disruption is an out-of-order message processing bug. The damage is still being estimated - it's somewhere between tens and hundreds of millions: 2,000 flights, affecting more than 330,000 passengers. Passengers are unlikely to be compensated.

Lol, not really. But close.

This is cool! I never saw vertical banknotes before. I like the hands on the 5 eur design below - that signifies a connection for me. Also the horisontal bar on series B is genuinely creative.

Because consistency is boring, and HMRC Software Development Team is all about living large. One landmine at a time, one landmine at a time....

I can't express how much happy I'm that #AI takes care of boring, nitpicking stuff. The whole value creation pyramid has moved one level up. And there are technical models that will get an enormous benefit from that. Paper Design is one of them. The same design imported from Claude Design

After depleting Claude Design budget you can export design into Paper.Design and edit there. I don't know any other tool that would allow to embed Claud Design into a workflow with such efficiency.

Yes, this is a survival bias. Yes, I resonate with this.

Tomorrow I'll ask my cofounder to put "as understood and crafted by people. No AI involved" on our landing page. Here is why. I had a challenge of importing paginated set of transactions from an OpenBanking integration provider. I spent four hours TDDing instead of LLMing it 🐢 vs 🐇

I saw that page today for the first time. I reckon that's our ISP's doing - communityfibre.co.uk It doesn't pop up when I try to load page now. Instead I see invalid cert authority error

It certainly does! There are fremium/paid bouncers like irctoday.com/pricing and www.irccloud.com. There is a plenty of free znc providers like znc.bg#request and bnc4free.com. But imo self-hosting is the most fun. It takes two hours to setup VPN + soju + Textual on RaspberryPi 👨‍🍳👌

Resist. This is more nuanced. Check out pluralistic.net/2024/04/23/m... Read global.oup.com/academic/pro... "They can write code better than you or I can, and if you don’t believe me, wait six months." is bollocks. We will prevail

It was good to make progress on MoneyHub integration without understanding OIDCC flow using Claude. But it was also good to wrap my head around the protocol and refactor it to a decent shape.

Interesting, I'll give it a watch. Unmanned Systems Forces recently announced recruitment 15k open positions. I quickly subbed the first part - it's takes a pretty hard line

Have you heard how he said on the "Unite the Kingdom" rally that 'violence is coming to you' They're fuelling the civil unrest, polarisation and division of society

It's vitally important to remember to use your skills for good and live the life that has a space for joy, smiles and enthusiasm. Now proven by science

The thing is that UK will do just fine until there is City. Without it, Britain's GDP per capita would be in the same range as Mississippi's. And the consequences are very real. Everyone who's removed from it are not doing very well.

Good one! IMO it all goes down to our fundamental human needs. At least that's my opinion after 8+ years on the technical leadership journey. Trying to answer the very same question lead my friend and me to developing our own organisation design framework. I'll present it at LegalGeek next week

Technically quite close, but conceptually their example is advocating for technical-based structure ("api"-slice), whilst I'm more in favour of feature slices. Example from Oskar's article above shows it quite well.

To quote the article: > he seems positively giddy at the idea of people being driven away by his occasionally repugnant blog posts and xeets. we are just not seeing the volumes of outflow and inflow. His posts are very in tune with the US discourse
