Katie Wilson is in Beacon Hill this afternoon announcing a brand new executive order targeting changes dealing with traffic safety across city government. The five-section order is beefy, and I think it represents the biggest reaffirmation of Vision Zero in Seattle since the initial 2015 commitment.

RapidRide G hit a huge milestone last month seeing 7,325 weekday average boardings Its high water mark is now at over 3,250 riders per mile. A single digit number of cities have a bus line with a ridership per mile half that high and only a few with ridership per mile higher

I know I said I'll do a Crosslake Connection, but I am honestly getting kind of bored of making Link Light Rail videos. I think it will be easier to make after I talked about other topics first. I have been sitting on an urban canopies script since December that I'd rather work on.

Sound Transit has a survey up around the realignment of the ST3 plan. It's very high level and doesn't ask about specific projects, but does have an open form question at the end where you can list your priorities. soundtransit.sjc1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

It is absurd that we had to wait a year after the waterfront trail opened to have a direct connection on Yesler, when the rest of the path is a mere two blocks away, but it's good that it is happening. This Saturday, I will publish my video on the revised waterfront, which will touch on this.

10+ MILLION RIDES IN 2026: bike and scooter share is BOOMING in Seattle, growing 60% since last year. We share the work we’re doing to make this popular way to travel in the city better for everyone and celebrate its many benefits on the SDOT blog. Read it now: bit.ly/45qrWVd
A man walks past shared scooters neatly parked in a corral in Downtown Seattle. Posters with the phrase “Don’t roll where you stroll” are seen in the background as part of an education campaign by operator Lime.A woman picks up a free helmet from the Lime table at the Beacon Ave S & 15th Ave S Safety Project celebration. In total, SDOT and our partners, Lime and Bird, distributed more than 5,000 helmets in 2025.Examples of the parking corrals with local art outside of Benaroya Hall.Shared bikes neatly parked in two new parking corrals in Downtown Seattle, near the Symphony 1 Line light rail station. SDOT is more than tripling the number of bike and scooter corrals downtown by summer 2026, ahead of the FIFA World Cup. The new corrals are being installed where data shows they are needed most, before continuing to expand parking across the city.

So, they finally add volume sliders to Mario Kart World and of course they do it in the most Nintendo way possible. Instead of sliders from 0% to 100% across different sound types, it's a toggle for the music to go from Normal to Loud, with loud barely being louder than normal.
