I think that a VN or dating sim would be the perfect game to pull the Undertale/Deltarune "secret messed up route" thing. Not another Doki Doki Literature Club, but a game that is fully playable as the surface level game, but changes drastically with certain steps you wouldn't take on accident.

One of the most powerful moments I've ever seen in a video game review was when The Spoony One talks about how important the Ultima series was to his childhood, and getting close to his older brother, and then concludes the story with an absolute crashout about how Ultima IX completely shat on that.

By RAW, Monks in D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder 1e aren't proficient in unarmed strikes, as it's not specifically listed and they aren't proficient with all simple weapons. In fact, the Simple Weapon Proficiency feat for both systems calls out Monks as one of the classes that need to take it it.

This might be controversial, but I think that the absolute best player type to have at your table is the newbie. New players often have the most creative ideas, because they have no learned habits. They have no preconceptions about what is allowed. They don't have "my old table" rulings to unlearn.

Had a #pokemon thought. One of my UB ideas was an alternate universe equivalent to Mewtwo. I've also thought of making Missingno an Ultra Beast. I used to think Missingno was the fourth legendary bird. What if for my fangame, all the new UBs were alternate universe legendary pokémon?

#GM tip of the day 'Dead' according to a game's hit point rules should not always mean dead. It may mean 'no longer able to adventure', or permanent attribute loss, or whatever evil thing the GM can come up with, and 'dead' is a legit option, but it's kinda lame. Mix things up occasionally. #ttrpg
